Yes. Add `state-xx-city-name` to your username, for example `USERNAME-country-us-state-wa-city-seattle`. City names are lower case with underscores for spaces (`city-san_antonio`). City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. If no IP is online in a small city, widen to the state. ### Does city targeting cost more? No. City, state, ZIP code and ASN targeting are included in every MetroProxies plan, from $1.50 for 1 GB. On 18 October 2026, DataImpulse's documentation said city-targeted traffic is billed at double its standard rate, and SOAX reserved ZIP and ASN targeting for plans from $1,500 a month. See [what city targeting costs](https://metroproxies.com/compare/city-targeting-cost/). ### How precise is a city IP? As precise as the geolocation database a website uses. Databases place one residential IP differently, so an IP we route as Fort Worth can show as Dallas in one database and Fort Worth in another. Test the target page itself, then compare a city request with a ZIP request. The [IP geolocation guide](https://metroproxies.com/guides/ip-geolocation-accuracy/) explains why. ### Who is behind MetroProxies? ProxyGoat LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (USA). The team has been in the proxy business since 2019. Support answers by email (Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week). There is no phone line and no chat. ### What can I not use it for? Anything illegal or against a site's rules, plus these blocked targets: Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587. Typical uses are local search and ad checks, price checks on public pages, and geo-testing your own site or app from several US cities. ## What are the key facts about MetroProxies? | Attribute | Value | | --- | --- | | What it is | Rotating and sticky residential proxies in the United States, requested by city, state, ZIP code or internet provider, billed per GB | | KYC / ID verification | None: no ID, no selfie, no documents to sign up, top up or buy | | Residential price | $1.50 for 1 GB, $5.94 for 10 GB, $50 for 100 GB; $0.50/GB from 100 GB to 1 TB | | Cities with a page | 181 US cities with 150,000 or more residents (Census Vintage 2024), each with local data | | Targeting | Country and city targeting on every plan; in the United States also state and ZIP code; ASN targeting at no extra cost. Our upstream provider confirms that device owners opt in and can opt out, and that its supply does not come from seized or disrupted networks such as NetNut or IPIDEA | ## Why a provider organized by city? Because that is how many US websites decide what to show. Search results, store stock, delivery fees, prices, ads and legal notices change by metro area, by ZIP code and at state lines, and the people who check them need the right city every time. So MetroProxies is built around places: a page for every US city of 150,000 people or more, with the facts that change a test result there (time zone, area codes, ZIP areas, internet providers, sales tax, state privacy law) and the exact username segment to target it. The price list is the same in every city, and targeting never costs extra. ## What principles does MetroProxies follow? - **Verifiable facts only.** Prices are dated and sourced; we publish no IP counts, success rates or speeds we cannot back, and no reviews or ratings. - **Legitimate use.** A public [acceptable use policy](https://metroproxies.com/acceptable-use/), blocked categories (Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587) and a person reading every abuse report. - **Little data.** No ID documents, an optional email, connection metadata deleted after 30 days. - **Honest limits.** City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online; geolocation databases do not always agree; sticky sessions last up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier. ## Where can I find official facts about MetroProxies? ProxyGoat LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (USA). The team has been in the proxy business since 2019. The company runs the gateway, the client area and support; residential and mobile IPs come from established upstream partner networks. ### Is there a phone number or office to visit? No. Support is by email at support@metroproxies.com (Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week), which keeps a written record of every request. ### Why crypto only? Crypto lets you pay without sharing card or bank details and without uploading identity documents. You top up a balance and buy plans from it. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it. ### Does MetroProxies sell outside the United States? Country and city targeting on every plan; in the United States also state and ZIP code; ASN targeting at no extra cost. City availability varies. This site, its city pages and its examples are about the United States. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. Home IPs are requested by city, state, ZIP code or ISP network, with a page of local data for each of 181 US cities. --- # DataImpulse alternative for US city proxies > DataImpulse alternative for US city proxies: DataImpulse bills city traffic at double its $1/GB rate (18 Oct 2026); MetroProxies includes it from $1.50. No KYC. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/dataimpulse/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) DataImpulse is known for its $1/GB standard rate. For city-level US work, the rate that applies is a different one. **Quick answer — What is a good DataImpulse alternative for US city proxies?** For US city targeting, **MetroProxies** is an alternative to DataImpulse: on 18 October 2026, DataImpulse documented that city-targeted traffic is "billed at double the standard rate" ($1/GB), while MetroProxies includes city, state, ZIP and ASN targeting at $0.59/GB for 10 GB and $0.50/GB from 100 GB. No KYC; crypto only. ## How do DataImpulse and MetroProxies compare? | | DataImpulse | MetroProxies | | --- | --- | --- | | Standard residential rate | $1/GB (Basic 50 GB, $50); $0.80/GB on 1 TB ($800) | $1.50 for 1 GB to $500 for 1 TB | | City-targeted traffic | Billed at double: $2/GB on Basic | Same price as any traffic: $0.52/GB on 50 GB | | ZIP and ASN targeting | Listed with "extra costs" | Included | | Smallest purchase | $5 intro pack of 5 GB (new customers, once); then 50 GB ($50) | 1 GB for $1.50 (from a $25 top-up) | | City availability | "We cannot guarantee the availability of proxies from a specific city at any given time" | City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online | | Payment | Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, wire, crypto wallet | Crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC | | Identity documents | Not mentioned on the page read | None | *Prices checked on October 18, 2026.* ## When is DataImpulse the better choice? When you do not need a city. For country-level US traffic, DataImpulse's standard $1/GB on 50 GB and $0.80/GB on 1 TB are below MetroProxies at those volumes ($0.52/GB and $0.50/GB). It also accepts cards and bank transfer, which MetroProxies does not. The switch point is the city segment. Once a job needs a named US city, DataImpulse's documented double billing puts its 50 GB rate at $2/GB, about four times MetroProxies' $0.52/GB. The same applies to ZIP and ASN targeting, which DataImpulse lists with extra costs. ## How do I move a DataImpulse city job to MetroProxies? Both use username parameters, so most scripts need two changes: the gateway host and the username format. - Gateway: `gw.metroproxies.com`, port 7777 for HTTP/HTTPS or 7778 for SOCKS5. - Username: `USERNAME-country-us-state-mn-city-minneapolis` (state and city in lower case, underscores for spaces). - Sticky session: add `-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}`, up to 30 minutes. Run one request per city with the 1 GB plan first and compare the exit locations with your current results. The [username reference](https://metroproxies.com/docs/username-format/) has every parameter. ## Where should I go next? For city-targeted US traffic at the volumes we checked, yes: $0.52/GB against $2/GB at 50 GB on 18 October 2026. For country-level traffic without a city, DataImpulse's $1/GB and $0.80/GB are lower than ours at 50 GB and 1 TB. We do not claim to be the cheapest at every volume. ### Does MetroProxies have a trial like DataImpulse's intro pack? No free trial: test with the 1 GB plan, paid from the minimum top-up; the rest of the top-up stays on your balance. The 1 GB plan costs $1.50. ### Can I pay MetroProxies by card? No. MetroProxies is crypto-only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC; the top-up is the price of the plan you choose, at least $25. If you need card payment, DataImpulse accepts cards. ## Sources 1. City availability varies | | Payment | Cards and others; crypto for residential (FAQ) | Crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC | *Prices checked on October 18, 2026.* ## What does Decodo do better? Decodo sells more than residential proxies, and its residential pool covers many countries. If you need several product types in one account, invoices with VAT, or sessions longer than 30 minutes, it covers more ground than MetroProxies, which focuses on US residential traffic by city. Where MetroProxies differs is cost and commitment for US city work. Decodo's plans are monthly subscriptions; MetroProxies sells traffic once and it stays on the account. At 10 GB, the October 2026 list prices were $35 a month plus VAT against $5.94. ## How do I switch a Decodo city job to MetroProxies? Change the host and the username; keep the rest of your code. - Host and ports: `gw.metroproxies.com`, 7777 (HTTP/HTTPS), 7778 (SOCKS5). - City: `USERNAME-country-us-state-tn-city-nashville`. - ZIP: append `-zip-37203`. ASN: append `-asn-7922` for Xfinity, which serves 98% of Nashville homes in the FCC map. - Sticky: append `-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}`, up to 30 minutes. Decodo, or another worldwide provider, if most of your work is outside the United States. MetroProxies' pages, data and examples are about US cities, states and ZIP codes. Country and city targeting on every plan; in the United States also state and ZIP code; ASN targeting at no extra cost. City availability varies. ### Does MetroProxies offer longer sticky sessions than Decodo? No. up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier. Decodo's documentation allows longer sessions, up to 24 hours (1,440 minutes, read 14 October 2026). ### Can I get an invoice with VAT? MetroProxies does not issue VAT invoices; it is paid in crypto from a prepaid balance. If you need VAT invoicing, a provider such as Decodo fits better. ## Sources 1. ZIP and ASN targeting are another matter. **Quick answer — What is a good SOAX alternative for US ZIP and city targeting?** On 18 October 2026, SOAX listed ZIP and ASN targeting only on its Scale ($1,500/month + VAT) and Enterprise plans. **MetroProxies**, a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, includes city, state, ZIP and ASN targeting from $1.50 for 1 GB, with no subscription. No KYC; pay in crypto. ## How do SOAX and MetroProxies compare? | | SOAX | MetroProxies | | --- | --- | --- | | Model | Monthly credit plans: Builder $200, Team $500, Scale $1,500, Enterprise $3,000 (+ VAT); free Sandbox | One-off traffic blocks from $1.50 (1 GB) to $500 (1 TB) | | Residential price per GB | Tier 1: $5 Sandbox, $3 Builder, $2.20 Team, $1.50 Scale | $1.50/GB on 1 GB down to $0.50/GB | | City and region targeting | All plans | All plans | | ZIP and ASN targeting | Scale and Enterprise only | All plans | | ISP targeting | All plans | By ASN, all plans | | Traffic expiry | Monthly credits | Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them | | Payment | Cards; bank transfer for approved business accounts | Crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC | *Prices checked on October 18, 2026.* ## Who should stay with SOAX? Teams that already spend $1,500 or more a month, want one provider for residential and mobile at the same rate, and pay by card or invoice. SOAX's Scale price of $1.50/GB (Tier 1) with ZIP and ASN targeting is a reasonable deal at that size. The gap is below that level. A team that needs ZIP-level checks in a few US cities for a few gigabytes a month cannot reach ZIP targeting on Builder ($200) or Team ($500). On MetroProxies the same check costs $1.50 for the first gigabyte, and the traffic you do not use does not reset at the end of the month. ## How do I run a SOAX-style ZIP check on MetroProxies? Write the state, city and ZIP into the username and keep the IP for the length of your check: `USERNAME-country-us-state-nc-city-charlotte-zip-28202-session-clt1-ttl-15` This asks for an IP in uptown Charlotte and holds it for up to 15 minutes (up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier). Then verify the exit in the geolocation database your target uses; the [verification guide](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/) has code for curl, Python and Node.js. ## Where should I go next? ZIP-level work is explained on [proxy by ZIP code](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/); the full ranking is in the [best US city proxies 2026](https://metroproxies.com/best/us-city-proxies-2026/), and prices are on the [pricing page](https://metroproxies.com/pricing/). Other comparisons: [DataImpulse](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/dataimpulse/), [SOAX](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/soax/), [Decodo](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/decodo/) and [Webshare](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/webshare/). ## What else do people ask about switching? ### Does MetroProxies sell mobile IPs like SOAX? Yes, as separate products: dedicated US 4G/5G ports from $3.75 a day and rotating mobile traffic per GB, both on the [pricing page](https://metroproxies.com/pricing/). Mobile products are country-level, not city-level. ### Is there a monthly commitment? No. You pick a block of traffic and top up its price in crypto (at least $25); the plan is bought once the top-up is credited. Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them. ### Does SOAX ask for ID? On the pricing page we read, SOAX required business verification for Enterprise annual and postpaid billing. MetroProxies does not ask for identity documents to open an account or buy a plan. ## Sources 1. MetroProxies: $5.94, no KYC. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/webshare/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) Webshare lists city, state, ZIP and ASN targeting and sells monthly residential plans by card. Here is how the two compare for US city work. **Quick answer — Is there a Webshare alternative that accepts crypto for US city proxies?** Yes. On 18 October 2026, Webshare's residential page said it accepts cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay and has no plans to support other payment methods. **MetroProxies** takes BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC only and sells US city-targeted residential traffic from $1.50 for 1 GB, $5.94 for 10 GB. No KYC. ## How do Webshare and MetroProxies compare? | | Webshare | MetroProxies | | --- | --- | --- | | 1 GB | $3.50 per month (sale; $7.00 struck through) | $1.50, one-off | | 10 GB | $27.50 per month (sale) | $5.94, one-off | | 100 GB | $225 per month (sale) | $50, one-off | | 1 TB | $1,500 per month (sale) | $500, one-off | | Targeting | Country, city, state, ZIP and ASN listed | Country, state, city, ZIP and ASN on every plan | | Payment | Cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay | Crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC | | KYC | "Certain targets can be unblocked after completing a brief KYC procedure" | None | *Prices checked on October 18, 2026.* ## When is Webshare the better fit? When you want to pay by card, or want other proxy types in the same account: Webshare also sells datacenter and static residential proxies. For US city-level residential work paid in crypto, the trade-offs flip. Webshare's residential plans are monthly and shown as discounts from $7.00/GB; MetroProxies sells blocks that do not reset, at $0.59/GB for 10 GB in October 2026, and asks for no identity documents. ## How do I point a Webshare script at MetroProxies? Replace the endpoint and the username, keep the password field for your MetroProxies password: - Endpoint: `gw.metroproxies.com:7777` (or `:7778` for SOCKS5). - Username for a city: `USERNAME-country-us-state-ut-city-salt_lake_city`. - New IP per request: open a new connection for each request; to keep one IP, add `-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}`. The [quickstart](https://metroproxies.com/docs/quickstart/) shows the full setup in five minutes. ## Where should I go next? To pay in crypto, follow [how to pay for US city proxies in crypto](https://metroproxies.com/payments/); to compare more providers, read the [best US city proxies 2026](https://metroproxies.com/best/us-city-proxies-2026/) and [geo-targeting proxy prices](https://metroproxies.com/compare/city-targeting-cost/). Other comparisons: [DataImpulse](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/dataimpulse/), [SOAX](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/soax/), [Decodo](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/decodo/) and [Webshare](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/webshare/). ## What else do people ask about switching? ### Why pay for proxies in crypto? Some buyers prefer not to share card details or upload identity documents with each provider they test. With MetroProxies you top up a balance in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC and your account number is your login; email is optional. Send the exact amount shown, click I've sent the payment, and the top-up is credited once confirmed. ### Is the Webshare price really a sale? That is how Webshare shows it: on 18 October 2026, each tier displayed a $7.00/GB price struck through next to the discounted price, with no end date. We record the price you would pay and mark it as a sale. ### Does MetroProxies have a free plan? No free trial: test with the 1 GB plan, paid from the minimum top-up; the rest of the top-up stays on your balance. ## Sources 1. IPRoyal City-level targeting on pay-as-you-go traffic; its documentation reserves ISP targeting for verified customers who have spent $1,000. - Best for: Small pay-as-you-go tests without a subscription - Price: $55.10 for 10 GB ($5.51/GB); $7.35 for 1 GB - KYC: ID needed for ISP targeting (documentation) - Crypto payment: Yes (logo on the pricing page) - Pros: Pay as you go - Cons: Highest 10 GB price in this table *Disclosure: this page is published by MetroProxies. Competitor details come from their public websites at the date shown above and may have changed since.* ## How does the ranking change at other volumes? At 1 GB, MetroProxies ($1.50) and Thordata ($2.00, sale) are the only providers in the table under $3; Geonode and DataImpulse have no 1 GB plan. At 100 GB, Geonode ($0.65/GB monthly) is close to MetroProxies ($0.50/GB), and at 1 TB Geonode ($0.50/GB) matches MetroProxies ($0.50/GB), with Geonode lower from 2 TB ($0.468/GB). We do not claim to be the cheapest at any volume; the [price index](https://metroproxies.com/research/us-city-proxy-price-index-2026/) has all five volumes. ## What else matters when you choose a US city proxy? - **Is targeting extra?** Check the documentation, not only the pricing page: a city surcharge or a ZIP restriction is often written there. - **How is a city named?** Some providers want `city-new_york`, others a numeric ID. Test one request before you script a run. - **What does the exit really look like?** Check the IP in the geolocation database your target uses; suburbs are often labelled with the core city. - **How do you pay?** Card-only providers need a billing identity; crypto-only providers such as MetroProxies do not ask for identity documents. - **Does unused traffic expire?** Monthly plans usually reset; MetroProxies traffic never expires. ## Where should I go next? Check the five volumes in the [residential proxy price comparison](https://metroproxies.com/research/us-city-proxy-price-index-2026/), the targeting surcharges in [geo-targeting proxy prices](https://metroproxies.com/compare/city-targeting-cost/), and the one-to-one pages for [DataImpulse](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/dataimpulse/), [SOAX](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/soax/), [Decodo](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/decodo/) and [Webshare](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/webshare/). Ready to test? [Buy residential proxies by city](https://metroproxies.com/residential-proxies/) or open the [city list](https://metroproxies.com/cities/). ## What else do people ask about the ranking? ### Why rank by the 10 GB price? Ten gigabytes is a common first purchase for city-level checks, and it is a volume where most providers publish a price. Rankings at 1 GB, 100 GB and 1 TB are in the [price index](https://metroproxies.com/research/us-city-proxy-price-index-2026/). ### Is MetroProxies first because it wrote the list? It is first by the rule stated above, which we apply the same way to every provider: price per GB of city-targeted traffic at 10 GB on 18 October 2026. The prices of the others are on their own public pages, linked below, so you can check them. ### Which provider has the most US cities? None of them publishes a verified city count, and we do not either. City availability varies with the residential devices online; test your own cities with a small plan first. ## Sources (read on 18 October 2026) 1. The price and the username format are the same everywhere: $1.50 for 1 GB and `USERNAME-country-us-state-xx-city-name`. What differs is the local data, because that is what changes a test result. - **Internet providers:** Lincoln has fiber available to 100% of homes, Chattanooga has fiber available to 100% of homes, Clarksville has fiber available to 100% of homes, while some Sun Belt cities rely mostly on cable. The provider mix tells you which ASNs to expect. - **Growth:** Port St. Lucie grew +26.2% between April 2020 and July 2024, the fastest on the list, while St. Louis changed −7.2%. - **Time zones and area codes:** six US time zones appear, and many big cities have three or four overlay area codes. Use the [state pages](https://metroproxies.com/states/) to see the cities of one state side by side. ## What else do people ask about the city list? ### Why 150,000 residents? It is the size at which a city has enough home connections, local data and search demand to deserve its own page. The Census Bureau's Vintage 2024 estimates list 181 such cities. Smaller cities still work through the `city-` segment; they simply have no page here. ### Are suburbs counted as their own cities? Yes, when they are incorporated cities with 150,000 or more people. Plano, Irving and Frisco are separate pages from Dallas; Aurora, Lakewood and Denver are separate too. Geolocation databases sometimes label a suburb IP with the core city, so check the exit IP before you rely on it. ### How often is the list updated? When the Census Bureau publishes new city estimates (usually each May) and when the FCC releases a new broadband map. Each page shows the date its data was read; this edition was read on 18 October 2026. ### Do all cities cost the same? Yes. Every city uses the same tiers, from $1.50 for 1 GB to $0.50/GB at volume. City, state, ZIP and ASN targeting are included. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. Home IPs are requested by city, state, ZIP code or ISP network, with a page of local data for each of 181 US cities. --- # Geo-targeting proxy prices: who charges extra for city IPs > Does city targeting cost extra? DataImpulse bills city traffic at double, SOAX keeps ZIP/ASN for $1,500 plans. 8 providers compared on 18 Oct 2026. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/compare/city-targeting-cost/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) City, state, ZIP and ASN targeting are sold in four different ways: included, billed at a higher rate, limited to expensive plans, or gated behind identity checks. **Quick answer — Does city targeting cost extra with residential proxies?** It depends on the provider. On 18 October 2026, DataImpulse billed city-targeted traffic at double its $1/GB rate, SOAX kept ZIP and ASN targeting for plans from $1,500 a month, and IPRoyal's documentation required a verified ID for ISP targeting. **MetroProxies** includes city, state, ZIP and ASN targeting at every tier, from $1.50 for 1 GB. No KYC; crypto. ## How does each provider sell US targeting? | Provider | City | State | ZIP code | ASN / ISP | Condition or extra cost | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | MetroProxies | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Included in every plan, from $1.50 for 1 GB | | DataImpulse | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | City, state, ZIP and ASN listed with "extra costs"; city traffic "billed at double the standard rate" | | SOAX | Yes | Yes | Scale and Enterprise only | ASN: Scale and Enterprise only | Scale is $1,500/month + VAT; ISP targeting on every plan | | IPRoyal | Yes | Yes | — | After ID check | ISP targeting "only with verified ID and after spending $1,000" (docs) | | Decodo | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Included on each residential plan | | Webshare | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Listed as features; some targets unlocked after a brief KYC | | Geonode | Yes | Yes | — | Yes | "Where live IPs are available" | | Thordata | Yes | Yes | — | Yes | Country, city, state and ISP targeting listed | *Prices checked on October 18, 2026.* "—" = not stated on the pages we read. ✓ = offered. Read on each provider's pricing page and documentation on 18 October 2026 (IPRoyal documentation: 14 October 2026). ## Why do some providers charge more for city traffic? The providers do not explain it on the pages we read. A likely reason: a city request draws on a much smaller group of devices than a country request, and some providers price that in, either as a higher per-GB rate (DataImpulse doubles it) or by reserving fine targeting for large plans (SOAX keeps ZIP and ASN for Scale and Enterprise). For the buyer, the result is that the headline price is not the city price. At DataImpulse, $1/GB becomes $2/GB as soon as you add a city. At SOAX, a ZIP-level test needs a $1,500 monthly plan. Before you compare providers, write down which targeting levels your job needs and price those, not the headline. ## What does 50 GB of city-targeted traffic cost? *List prices read on 18 October 2026; sale = discounted from a struck-through price with no end date.* | Provider | 50 GB of city traffic | How it is billed | | --- | --- | --- | | MetroProxies | $25.98 | One-off block, never expires | | Geonode | $34.65 per month | Monthly plan | | Thordata | $75 (sale) | 50 GB plan | | DataImpulse | $100 | $50 plan of 50 GB, city traffic billed at double: buy two plans | | Webshare | $122.50 per month (sale) | Monthly plan | | Decodo | $150 per month + VAT | Monthly plan | *Prices checked on October 18, 2026.* ## Where should I go next? Comparisons: [DataImpulse alternative](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/dataimpulse/), [SOAX alternative](https://metroproxies.com/alternatives/soax/). ## What else do people ask about targeting costs? ### Is ZIP targeting worth paying for? Only if your check changes by neighborhood: store prices, delivery windows, local search packs. ZIP-level geolocation is approximate in every database, so test before you pay a premium for it. At MetroProxies it costs nothing extra; see [ZIP code targeting](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/). ### Why does IPRoyal ask for ID before ISP targeting? Its documentation gives the rule but not the reason. Providers often treat narrow targeting as higher risk. MetroProxies does not ask for identity documents and applies a public [acceptable use policy](https://metroproxies.com/acceptable-use/) instead. ### Do these prices include tax? No. Decodo and SOAX list prices + VAT for buyers where VAT applies. MetroProxies prices are the amounts paid from your crypto balance. ## Sources 1. No KYC. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/docs/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) Everything you need to send city-targeted requests: connection details, the username format, code samples and the API. **Quick answer — How do I connect to MetroProxies?** Connect to `gw.metroproxies.com` on port 7777 (HTTP/HTTPS) or 7778 (SOCKS5) with your proxy username and password, and add targeting segments such as `-country-us-state-ca-city-sacramento`. **MetroProxies** plans start at $1.50 for 1 GB (October 2026), and every code sample here is syntax-checked. No KYC; crypto. ## Where should I start? - **[Quickstart](https://metroproxies.com/docs/quickstart/)** — Account, top-up, first city request in five minutes. - **[Username format](https://metroproxies.com/docs/username-format/)** — Every segment: country, state, city, zip, asn, session, ttl. - **[curl](https://metroproxies.com/docs/curl/)** — Test cities, ZIPs and sessions from the command line; measure page size. - **[Python](https://metroproxies.com/docs/python/)** — requests examples, sticky sessions and a ZIP → city → state fallback. - **[Node.js](https://metroproxies.com/docs/node/)** — undici fetch, a loop over cities, Playwright with a city IP. - **[API reference](https://metroproxies.com/docs/api/)** — Account, top-ups, orders and API keys over HTTPS. ## What are the connection details? | Attribute | Value | | --- | --- | | Gateway | `gw.metroproxies.com` | | Ports | 7777 (HTTP and HTTPS via CONNECT), 7778 (SOCKS5) | | Username format | `USERNAME-country-{cc}-state-{state}-city-{city}-zip-{zip}-asn-{asn}-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}` | | Authentication | Username and password on every plan, or an IP allowlist (up to 10 IPs). Sub-users with their own credentials and traffic cap. API keys you can revoke at any time | | Rotation | Each new connection gets an IP from the pool, usually a different one; to get a new IP on every request, send one request per connection (turn off keep-alive) | | Sticky sessions | up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier | | Traffic counting | Usage counts all data sent and received through the proxy (upload and download, headers included). 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes. Connection attempts that fail before reaching the target are not counted | | Blocked targets | Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587 | ## How are the code samples checked? Every Python sample on this site is compiled with `python -I -m py_compile` and every JavaScript sample is checked with `node --check` before publication, with `USERNAME` and `PASSWORD` as placeholders. They target IP lookup services (ipinfo.io, api.ipify.org) or `YOUR-SITE.example`, never search engine result pages, and they set timeouts and stop on errors. If a sample fails with your credentials, write to support@metroproxies.com with the error message and the username you used (never your password). ## What else do people ask about the docs? ### Is there an API for orders and top-ups? Yes. The [API reference](https://metroproxies.com/docs/api/) covers the account, top-ups, orders and API keys, with curl, Python and Node.js examples. API keys can be revoked at any time. ### Do you have SDKs? No. The proxy works with any HTTP or SOCKS5 client, and the API is plain HTTPS with JSON, so the standard libraries in the examples are enough. ### Where are the city segments? On each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/), in the data table and the username section. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. No KYC; crypto. *City, ZIP, ASN and sticky examples* ```bash # city curl -s --max-time 30 -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-cleveland:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 https://ipinfo.io/json # ZIP inside the city (downtown Cleveland) curl -s --max-time 30 -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-cleveland-zip-44114:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 https://ipinfo.io/json # one provider's network (AS20115, Spectrum) curl -s --max-time 30 -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-cleveland-asn-20115:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 https://ipinfo.io/json # sticky: run twice, same IP for up to 10 minutes curl -s --max-time 30 -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-cleveland-session-cle01-ttl-10:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 https://api.ipify.org # SOCKS5 (hostname resolved by the proxy) curl -s --max-time 30 --socks5-hostname gw.metroproxies.com:7778 -U USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-cleveland:PASSWORD https://ipinfo.io/json ``` ## How do I measure how much traffic a page uses? Before you buy volume, measure one real target page through the proxy and multiply by the number of pages and cities. curl prints the size of what it downloaded; add `--compressed` so you measure what a browser would transfer, and remember that a browser also loads images and scripts the HTML points to. *Size of one page through a city IP* ```bash curl -s -o /dev/null --compressed --max-time 60 \ -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-cleveland:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 \ -w 'downloaded %{size_download} bytes, headers %{size_header} bytes, time %{time_total}s\n' \ https://YOUR-SITE.example/ ``` ## What do the common curl errors mean? - **`407 Proxy Authentication Required`:** wrong username or password, or a special character in the password that needs URL-encoding (`@` → `%40`). - **Timeout (exit code 28):** no answer within `--max-time`; retry, or widen from ZIP to city or from city to state. - **`Could not resolve proxy`:** check the gateway host spelling: `gw.metroproxies.com`. - **Works in curl, not in your app:** your app may keep connections open (same IP) or ignore the proxy for some hosts; compare with the [Python](https://metroproxies.com/docs/python/) or [Node.js](https://metroproxies.com/docs/node/) examples. Usage counts all data sent and received through the proxy (upload and download, headers included). 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes. Connection attempts that fail before reaching the target are not counted. ## What else do people ask about curl? ### Why --socks5-hostname instead of --socks5? With `--socks5-hostname` the proxy resolves the target's hostname, not your machine. Both work with the same username on port 7778. ### How do I get a new IP each time? Each curl run opens a new connection, so in rotating mode each run usually gets a different IP. Add a session ID only when you want to keep one. ### Is downtown Cleveland really ZIP 44114? 44114 covers much of downtown Cleveland and the lakefront. Use the ZIP areas listed on the [Cleveland page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/cleveland-oh/) for other parts of the city. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. No KYC; crypto. *1. fetch through a city IP (save as city.mjs)* ```javascript import { ProxyAgent, fetch } from 'undici'; const user = 'USERNAME-country-us-state-fl-city-orlando'; const agent = new ProxyAgent({ uri: 'http://gw.metroproxies.com:7777', token: 'Basic ' + Buffer.from(`${user}:PASSWORD`).toString('base64'), }); const res = await fetch('https://ipinfo.io/json', { dispatcher: agent, signal: AbortSignal.timeout(30000) }); if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`HTTP ${res.status}`); console.log(await res.json()); await agent.close(); ``` *2. Several cities, one agent each (save as cities.mjs)* ```javascript import { ProxyAgent, fetch } from 'undici'; const cities = [['fl', 'orlando'], ['fl', 'tampa'], ['ga', 'atlanta']]; for (const [state, city] of cities) { const user = `USERNAME-country-us-state-${state}-city-${city}`; const agent = new ProxyAgent({ uri: 'http://gw.metroproxies.com:7777', token: 'Basic ' + Buffer.from(`${user}:PASSWORD`).toString('base64'), }); try { const res = await fetch('https://ipinfo.io/json', { dispatcher: agent, signal: AbortSignal.timeout(30000) }); if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`HTTP ${res.status}`); const info = await res.json(); console.log(city, '->', info.ip, info.city, info.region); } catch (err) { console.log(city, 'failed:', err.message); } finally { await agent.close(); } } ``` *3. Playwright with a sticky city IP (save as browser.mjs)* ```javascript import { chromium } from 'playwright'; const browser = await chromium.launch({ proxy: { server: 'http://gw.metroproxies.com:7777', username: 'USERNAME-country-us-state-fl-city-miami-session-mia01-ttl-15', password: 'PASSWORD', }, }); const context = await browser.newContext({ timezoneId: 'America/New_York', locale: 'en-US' }); const page = await context.newPage(); await page.goto('https://ipinfo.io/json', { timeout: 60000 }); console.log(await page.textContent('body')); await browser.close(); ``` ## What should I watch for in Node.js? - **Keep-alive:** one `ProxyAgent` reuses connections, so in rotating mode it keeps the same exit IP while a connection stays open. Create one agent per city, or close it, to get a new IP. - **Time zone and locale:** Playwright's `timezoneId` and `locale` options make the browser match the city; each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) gives its IANA zone (Miami: `America/New_York`). - **SOCKS5:** Chromium does not send a username to SOCKS5 proxies; use the HTTP port in browsers. - **Timeouts:** `AbortSignal.timeout()` in fetch, `timeout` in Playwright. - **Rate:** keep requests to each site modest and follow its robots.txt and terms. ## Where should I go next? Start from the [five-minute setup](https://metroproxies.com/docs/quickstart/), compare with the [Python](https://metroproxies.com/docs/python/) and [curl](https://metroproxies.com/docs/curl/) examples, and check exits with the [proxy location checker](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/). All docs: [documentation](https://metroproxies.com/docs/). ## What else do people ask about Node.js? ### Which Node.js version do I need? Node.js 18 or later for `AbortSignal.timeout` and top-level await in `.mjs` files. Install undici with `npm install undici` and Playwright with `npm install playwright`. ### Does Puppeteer work too? Yes: launch with `--proxy-server=http://gw.metroproxies.com:7777` and call `page.authenticate({ username, password })` before the first navigation. ### Were these examples run against the gateway? They are syntax-checked with `node --check`, with USERNAME and PASSWORD as placeholders. Add `-zip-` for a neighborhood or `-session-` to keep one IP. **MetroProxies** includes city, ZIP and ASN targeting on every plan from $0.50/GB (October 2026). No KYC; crypto. *1. One request from a city* ```python import requests user = "USERNAME-country-us-state-il-city-chicago" proxy = f"http://{user}:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777" r = requests.get("https://ipinfo.io/json", proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=30) r.raise_for_status() print(r.json().get("city"), r.json().get("org")) ``` ## How do I fall back from ZIP to city to state? Small places can have no IP online at a given moment. Try the narrow request first, widen one level at a time, and return the level that answered so you can store it with the result. The function below does exactly that and gives up after the state level instead of retrying forever. *2. ZIP → city → state fallback* ```python import requests GATEWAY = "gw.metroproxies.com:7777" USER, PASSWORD = "USERNAME", "PASSWORD" def fetch_local(url: str, state: str, city: str | None = None, zip_code: str | None = None) -> tuple[str, requests.Response]: levels = [] if city and zip_code: levels.append(("zip", f"-state-{state}-city-{city}-zip-{zip_code}")) if city: levels.append(("city", f"-state-{state}-city-{city}")) levels.append(("state", f"-state-{state}")) last_error: Exception | None = None for level, segment in levels: proxy = f"http://{USER}-country-us{segment}:{PASSWORD}@{GATEWAY}" try: r = requests.get(url, proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=30) r.raise_for_status() return level, r except requests.RequestException as e: last_error = e raise RuntimeError(f"no IP at zip, city or state level: {last_error}") level, resp = fetch_local("https://ipinfo.io/json", "nm", city="albuquerque", zip_code="87102") print(level, resp.json().get("city")) ``` *3. A sticky session for a multi-step check* ```python import requests user = "USERNAME-country-us-state-wa-city-tacoma-session-tac01-ttl-15" proxy = f"http://{user}:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777" with requests.Session() as s: s.proxies = {"http": proxy, "https": proxy} first = s.get("https://api.ipify.org", timeout=30).text # step 1, step 2 ... on your own site, all from the same Tacoma IP second = s.get("https://api.ipify.org", timeout=30).text print(first, second, "same IP" if first == second else "IP changed: restart the flow") ``` ## Which Python details trip people up? - **New IP per request:** `requests.Session()` keeps the connection open, so rotating mode gives one IP for the whole session. Use plain `requests.get()` calls or a new `Session` per request to rotate. - **SOCKS5:** install `pip install "requests[socks]"` and use `socks5h://` so that the proxy resolves hostnames, not your machine. Port 7778. - **Special characters in the password:** URL-encode them with `urllib.parse.quote(password, safe="")`. - **Timeouts:** always set one; residential exits can be slower than data-center ones. - **Be polite:** keep the request rate to each site modest and follow robots.txt and its terms. ## Where should I go next? Start from the [five-minute setup](https://metroproxies.com/docs/quickstart/), compare with the [Node.js](https://metroproxies.com/docs/node/) and [curl](https://metroproxies.com/docs/curl/) examples, and keep IPs with [sticky sessions by city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions-by-city/). All docs: [documentation](https://metroproxies.com/docs/). ## What else do people ask about Python? ### Does httpx work too? Yes. In httpx 0.28 and later, pass `proxy="http://USERNAME-country-us-state-il-city-chicago:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777"` to `httpx.Client()`. Older versions used a `proxies` argument. ### Were these examples run against the gateway? They are syntax-checked with `python -I -m py_compile` on Python 3.10+, with USERNAME and PASSWORD as placeholders. Run them with your own credentials. ### How do I get the ASN of the exit IP? The `org` field of ipinfo.io's reply starts with it ("AS7922 ..." for Comcast). For ASN targeting, add `-asn-7922` to the username; see [ASN targeting](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/asn/). --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. No KYC, no ID upload. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/docs/quickstart/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) From an empty account to a verified exit IP in a US city. **Quick answer — How do I start with MetroProxies?** Create an account (your account number is your login; email is optional), pick a plan such as 1 GB ($1.50), top up its price in crypto (at least $25), then connect to `gw.metroproxies.com:7777` with a username such as `USERNAME-country-us-state-ma-city-boston`. **MetroProxies** asks for no ID. Prices as of October 2026. ## What are the five setup steps? 1. **Open an account** — Account-number login; email is optional. Your account number is your login: save it somewhere safe. Add an email (optional) if you want a way to recover it. Without an email, a lost account number cannot be recovered. 2. **Top up in crypto** — Choose a coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC), send the exact amount shown to the address shown on the network shown, then click I've sent the payment. The top-up is matched by its exact amount and credited once confirmed. 3. **Buy a plan** — Start with 1 GB ($1.50). Credentials appear in your dashboard as soon as you buy a plan from your confirmed crypto balance. 4. **Copy your credentials** — The dashboard shows your proxy username and password. Add targeting segments to the username; the password stays the same. 5. **Send a test request** — Run the curl command below and check the city in the reply. *First request (replace USERNAME and PASSWORD)* ```bash curl -s --max-time 30 -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-ma-city-boston:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 https://ipinfo.io/json ``` ## What should the reply look like? A JSON object with the exit IP and where a lookup service places it: `"city"`, `"region"` (the state), `"country": "US"` and `"org"`, which starts with the AS number of the home provider (for Boston, often AS7922 for Xfinity or AS701 for Verizon Fios, the two largest wired providers there in the FCC map). - **City matches:** you are set. Move to your real target. - **Neighboring city:** normal for some IPs; see [geolocation accuracy](https://metroproxies.com/guides/ip-geolocation-accuracy/). - **Error 407:** the username or password is wrong; copy them again from the dashboard. - **Timeout or no IP:** retry, or widen to `state-ma`. City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. ## What next? - Pick your cities on the [A–Z city list](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) and copy each segment. - Keep an IP across steps with a [sticky session](https://metroproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions-by-city/). - Use the code samples for [curl](https://metroproxies.com/docs/curl/), [Python](https://metroproxies.com/docs/python/) or [Node.js](https://metroproxies.com/docs/node/). - Create sub-users with their own traffic cap to separate projects. - Read the [acceptable use policy](https://metroproxies.com/acceptable-use/): Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587 are blocked. ## What else do people ask when they start? ### How long does a top-up take? It depends on the coin and network: the payment is credited once it has the confirmations the payment page states. The [payment page](https://metroproxies.com/payments/) lists the usual times per network. We do not promise a fixed delay. ### Can I use an IP allowlist instead of a password? Yes. Username and password on every plan, or an IP allowlist (up to 10 IPs). Sub-users with their own credentials and traffic cap. API keys you can revoke at any time. ### Which tools work with the proxy? Anything that supports an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy with username and password: curl, Python requests and httpx, Node.js (undici), Playwright, Puppeteer, Scrapy, most browsers and proxy managers. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. This page lists them all, in order, with the format each one expects. **Quick answer — What is the MetroProxies username format?** The full format is `USERNAME-country-{cc}-state-{state}-city-{city}-zip-{zip}-asn-{asn}-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}`. Start with your username, then add only the segments you need, from the widest place to the narrowest; city names are lower case with underscores. **MetroProxies** includes every segment on every plan from $0.50/GB (October 2026), with no surcharge. No KYC; crypto payments. ## Which segments exist, and in what order? | Segment | Format | Example | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `country-` | ISO 3166 code, lower case | `country-us` | Required for any targeting | | `state-` | USPS code, lower case | `state-tx` | United States only; 50 states and `dc` | | `city-` | lower case, underscores for spaces, no punctuation | `city-fort_worth` | City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online | | `zip-` | five digits | `zip-76102` | United States only; keep leading zeros | | `asn-` | AS number without "AS" | `asn-20115` | Narrows to one provider's network | | `session-` | letters and digits | `session-ftw01` | Same ID = same IP while the session lasts | | `ttl-` | minutes | `ttl-20` | Sticky time, up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier | ## How do the segments combine? Each segment narrows the previous one. Write them in the order of the table and leave out what you do not need. - `USERNAME-country-us` — any US residential IP, new IP per connection. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-tx-city-fort_worth` — Fort Worth. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-tx-city-fort_worth-zip-76102` — downtown Fort Worth. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-tx-city-fort_worth-asn-20115` — a Spectrum IP in Fort Worth. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-tx-city-fort_worth-session-ftw01-ttl-20` — one Fort Worth IP kept for up to 20 minutes. The password never changes. Username and password on every plan, or an IP allowlist (up to 10 IPs). Sub-users with their own credentials and traffic cap. API keys you can revoke at any time. ## What are the connection details? | Attribute | Value | | --- | --- | | Gateway host | `gw.metroproxies.com` | | HTTP / HTTPS port | 7777 | | SOCKS5 port | 7778 | | Protocols | HTTP, HTTPS (CONNECT) and SOCKS5 | | Rotation | Each new connection gets an IP from the pool, usually a different one; to get a new IP on every request, send one request per connection (turn off keep-alive) | | Traffic counting | Usage counts all data sent and received through the proxy (upload and download, headers included). 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes. Connection attempts that fail before reaching the target are not counted | ## What are the common mistakes? - **Upper case or spaces in a city:** `city-Fort Worth` will not match; write `city-fort_worth`. - **City without state:** names repeat across states (two Aurora, two Columbus, two Glendale, two Kansas City and two Springfield pages on this site alone). Always add `state-`. - **A ZIP outside the city:** `city-austin-zip-75201` asks for Austin and a Dallas ZIP at once, and is likely to find nothing. - **Reusing a session ID across cities:** use one ID per city and per run. - **SOCKS5 in a browser:** browsers do not send a username to SOCKS5 proxies; use port 7777. - **Special characters in the password:** URL-encode them when you put credentials in a proxy URL (`@` becomes `%40`). ## Where should I go next? Try the format with the [curl commands](https://metroproxies.com/docs/curl/), the [five-minute setup](https://metroproxies.com/docs/quickstart/) or the [Python examples](https://metroproxies.com/docs/python/); each level is explained on [city-level proxies](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/city/), [state-level proxies](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/state/) and [proxy by ZIP code](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/). ## What else do people ask about the format? ### Is the API the same format? No. The username is for the proxy gateway. The [API documentation](https://metroproxies.com/docs/api/) uses JSON fields, and country codes there are upper case (`US`), while the username uses lower case (`country-us`). ### How do I write cities like St. Louis or Winston-Salem? Drop the punctuation and replace spaces and hyphens with underscores: `city-st_louis`, `city-winston_salem`. Each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) prints the exact segment. ### Can sub-users use different targeting? Yes. Targeting lives in the username, so every sub-user can request any city. Sub-users have their own credentials and traffic cap, which is useful to separate projects or clients. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. Add the state and city to your username: `USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-cincinnati`. Names are lower case with underscores for spaces. Each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) prints the exact segment. City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. ### Which US cities are covered? Each of the 181 US cities with 150,000 or more residents has a page with local data. Other city names also work in the `city-` segment when residential IPs are online there. ### Can I target a ZIP code or an internet provider? Yes: add `-zip-45202` for a ZIP code or `-asn-20115` for a provider's network. Both are included on every plan. See [ZIP targeting](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/) and [ASN targeting](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/asn/). ### How long can I keep the same IP? up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier. Add `-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}` to the username. Without a session, Each new connection gets an IP from the pool, usually a different one; to get a new IP on every request, send one request per connection (turn off keep-alive). ### Why does a lookup show a neighboring city? Geolocation databases estimate locations and often label suburbs with the core city. Check the IP in the database your target uses; see [IP geolocation accuracy](https://metroproxies.com/guides/ip-geolocation-accuracy/). ## What do plans cost? ### How much does it cost? As of October 2026: $1.50 for 1 GB, $5.94 for 10 GB, $50 for 100 GB and $500 for 1 TB. All targeting is included. Full list on the [pricing page](https://metroproxies.com/pricing/). ### Does traffic expire? Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them. ### How is traffic counted? Usage counts all data sent and received through the proxy (upload and download, headers included). 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes. Connection attempts that fail before reaching the target are not counted. ### Is there a free trial? No free trial: test with the 1 GB plan, paid from the minimum top-up; the rest of the top-up stays on your balance. ### Do other providers sell for less? Yes, at some volumes: Geonode, for example, is at $0.468/GB on its 2 TB monthly plan (18 October 2026). We do not claim to be the cheapest at any volume. Our dated comparison with named providers is in the [price index](https://metroproxies.com/research/us-city-proxy-price-index-2026/). ## How do payment and the account work? ### Which payment methods do you accept? Crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. The top-up is the price of the plan you choose, at least $25. Send the exact amount shown, click I've sent the payment, and the top-up is credited once confirmed. See [how to pay](https://metroproxies.com/payments/). ### Do you ask for ID? No KYC: no ID, no selfie, no documents to sign up, top up or buy. We may refuse or suspend service in case of abuse, fraud or a legal obligation. ### How do I log in? Account-number login; email is optional. Your account number is your login: save it somewhere safe. Add an email (optional) if you want a way to recover it. Without an email, a lost account number cannot be recovered. ### Can I get a refund? Within 72 hours of purchase, a residential or rotating-mobile plan is credited back to your balance if you used less than 20% of its traffic and no more than 1 GB; a plan that does not work, and that support cannot fix within 24 hours, is credited back in full. Dedicated ports: within 24 hours of delivery (2 hours for a 1-day port), the port is credited back to your balance in full if it does not work and we cannot fix or replace it, or if it has carried less than 500 MB. A port we cannot deliver within 24 hours is credited back in full. If a port stops working later and support cannot fix it within 24 hours, the lost days are credited back. Top-ups are not paid back, except where the law requires it; the part added only to reach the minimum top-up is refundable on request within 30 days, in USDT or USDC, if unspent. ### Can I have several users? Yes. Username and password on every plan, or an IP allowlist (up to 10 IPs). Sub-users with their own credentials and traffic cap. API keys you can revoke at any time. ## Which rules apply, and what data is kept? ### What can I use MetroProxies for? Legitimate checks from US cities: public prices and stock, local search viewed by hand, your own ads and landing pages, testing your own sites and apps. Fraud, spam, attacks and unauthorized access are forbidden; see the [acceptable use policy](https://metroproxies.com/acceptable-use/). ### Which sites are blocked? Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587. ### What data do you keep? We do not log the content of your requests, full URLs or page data. To handle abuse reports and billing disputes, we keep connection metadata (time, account, exit IP, target hostname, bytes) for up to 30 days, then delete it. We keep your account number, orders, top-up records and traffic totals while your account is open, and afterwards only as long as accounting rules require. We disclose records to authorities only when the law requires it. Our upstream network provider may keep its own logs under its own policy. ### Where do the IPs come from? We resell residential and mobile IPs from established upstream partner networks. Our upstream provider confirms that device owners opt in and can opt out, and that its supply does not come from seized or disrupted networks such as NetNut or IPIDEA. The team has been in the proxy business since 2019. Prices, policies and contacts are listed on the [official facts page](https://metroproxies.com/llm-info/). More [about MetroProxies](https://metroproxies.com/about/). --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. Home IPs are requested by city, state, ZIP code or ISP network, with a page of local data for each of 181 US cities. --- # US city proxy guides: buy, set up and check city IPs > MetroProxies guides: get a specific city IP, verify a proxy's city, sticky sessions, geolocation accuracy, local price and ad checks. No KYC, crypto. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/guides/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) Practical guides for working with residential IPs city by city: getting the right city, checking it, and using it for legitimate local checks. **Quick answer — Where do I start with city-level proxies?** Start with [how to get a proxy with a specific city IP](https://metroproxies.com/guides/proxy-with-specific-city-ip/), then [verify the city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/) of the exit you get. **MetroProxies** includes city, state, ZIP and ASN targeting on every plan from $0.50/GB (October 2026). No KYC; crypto payments. ## How do I get and keep the right city? - **[Proxy with a specific city IP](https://metroproxies.com/guides/proxy-with-specific-city-ip/)** — Five steps from a top-up to a verified exit in the city you need. - **[Verify a proxy's city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/)** — curl, Python and Node.js code that prints the city and ASN of each exit. - **[Sticky sessions by city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions-by-city/)** — Keep one IP per city for multi-step checks, and restart cleanly when it changes. ## How do I use city IPs well? - **[IP geolocation accuracy](https://metroproxies.com/guides/ip-geolocation-accuracy/)** — Why databases place one IP in different cities, and how to test for your target. - **[Local price checks](https://metroproxies.com/guides/local-price-checks/)** — Record public prices by city and ZIP code, store by store, at a polite rate. - **[City-level ad checks](https://metroproxies.com/guides/city-level-ad-checks/)** — Preview tools first, then the landing page from a local IP, without adding clicks. ## What do these guides have in common? They treat a city IP as a measuring tool, with three rules: 1. **Know what you measure.** Note the city, ZIP, store and IP with every result; a number without its place cannot be compared. 2. **Check the exit.** Geolocation is an estimate; verify it in the database your target uses. 3. **Stay within the rules.** Public pages, modest request rates, robots.txt and site terms respected, no clicks on ads, no logins you are not entitled to. MetroProxies blocks Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587. The [city pages](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) give the local facts that matter for these checks: time zone, area codes, ZIP areas, providers, sales tax and the state privacy law. ## What else do people ask about the guides? ### Do you have guides for scraping at scale? Our guides cover city-level checks. For large crawls, follow each site's robots.txt and terms, prefer official APIs and data feeds, and keep request rates low; the [acceptable use policy](https://metroproxies.com/acceptable-use/) applies. ### Can I suggest a guide? Yes, write to support@metroproxies.com with the city-level task you want covered. ### Where is the code? In the [docs](https://metroproxies.com/docs/): curl, Python and Node.js examples, each syntax-checked. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. Home IPs are requested by city, state, ZIP code or ISP network, with a page of local data for each of 181 US cities. --- # Proxies for ad checks by US city > Check your own ads and landing pages city by city: preview tools first, then a US city IP for the landing page, without adding clicks. No KYC, crypto. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/guides/city-level-ad-checks/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) Campaigns are bought by metro, DMA or ZIP radius. Here is a clean way to confirm that each market sees the right creative and the right landing page. **Quick answer — How do I check my ads in a specific US city?** Start with your ad platform's preview tool, which shows results for a chosen location without adding impressions. Then use a city IP from **MetroProxies** (from $0.50/GB, October 2026) to load your landing page as a local visitor sees it: redirects, prices, store and tax. Never click ads through a proxy. No KYC; crypto. ## What should I check with a preview tool first? For your own campaigns, start with Google Ads' Ad Preview and Diagnosis tool (or the equivalent in other ad platforms): it shows which of your ads appear for a chosen city and language, without adding impressions or clicks. It answers "is my ad eligible in Tucson?" faster and more cleanly than any proxy. A local residential IP adds what preview tools cannot show: the landing page, redirects, currency and store details a real visitor in that city gets after the click. ## How do I check the landing page city by city? 1. Copy the **final URL** of the ad from your ad platform and add your own UTM parameters, for example `utm_source=qa&utm_medium=proxy`, so your analytics can filter the visits out. 2. Open it through a city IP: `USERNAME-country-us-state-az-city-tucson-session-tuc1-ttl-10` in a browser set to the HTTP port. 3. Note what changes by market: headline, phone number (area code 520 in Tucson), store or service area, prices and tax, legal notices. 4. Repeat for each target city, one session per city. Keep page loads to a few samples per city and per check. Do not open the ad click URL itself: that creates billable clicks and skews your own campaign data. ## Which local details are worth checking? The city pages list the facts most landing pages localize: - **Area codes:** a Houston page should show a 713, 281, 832, 346 or 621 number, not a Dallas one. - **Time zone:** offers that end "at midnight" should use the visitor's zone; Phoenix does not observe daylight saving time. - **Sales tax:** the rate shown before checkout differs by state; Oregon has none. - **State privacy notices:** visitors from states with a privacy law in force, such as California or Texas, may get a different consent banner. Each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) gives these values, with sources. ## Where should I go next? Get a local IP with [change your IP to another city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/proxy-with-specific-city-ip/), compare markets with [local price checks](https://metroproxies.com/guides/local-price-checks/), and look up area codes and time zones on the [city pages](https://metroproxies.com/cities/). More on the [guides page](https://metroproxies.com/guides/). ## What else do people ask about ad checks? ### Can I check competitors' ads this way? You can view public pages, but do not click competitors' ads: it costs them money and breaks ad platform rules. Search engines also prohibit automated access to their results pages, so check results by hand or use the platform's own transparency tools. ### How much traffic does an ad check use? A landing page loaded in a browser is often 2 to 8 MB. Ten cities, three loads each, is under 0.3 GB, well within the 1 GB plan ($1.50). ### Can I check ZIP-radius campaigns? Yes, add a ZIP inside and outside the radius: `-zip-85701` for downtown Tucson, then a ZIP outside your radius. ZIP-level geolocation is approximate, so compare with what the landing page shows. See [ZIP code targeting](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/). ## Sources 1. Here is what that means for city-level proxies. **Quick answer — How accurate is IP geolocation at city level?** IP geolocation is reliable at country and state level and approximate at city level: databases estimate a location from routing and registration data, so two vendors can place one residential IP in a city and in its suburb. **MetroProxies** routes city requests from $0.50/GB (October 2026); check each exit in your target's database. No KYC; crypto. ## Where does a database get a city from? No US internet provider publishes "this IP is in this home". Geolocation vendors combine several weaker signals: - **Registration and routing:** which provider holds the IP block and where its network equipment sits. - **Network measurements:** response times from known points, which narrow the area. - **Provider hints:** some ISPs publish geofeeds that tie IP ranges to a region or city. - **Observed data:** apps and websites that share location consent data with the vendor. Each vendor weighs these differently and updates on its own schedule, which is why two lookups of one IP can disagree. ## What level of precision can I expect? *Qualitative guide based on how databases work; no vendor publishes comparable accuracy figures for residential IPs.* | Level | Typical agreement between databases | Use it for | | --- | --- | --- | | Country | Near-total for US residential IPs | National content, currency, language | | State | Very high | Taxes, state-level rules, statewide samples | | Metro / DMA | High | TV and ad markets, regional prices | | City | Good in large cities, weaker in suburbs and small towns | Local search, store pickers, city ads | | ZIP code | Approximate; often a neighboring ZIP | Getting close to a neighborhood, then verifying | ## Why do suburbs show up as the big city? Home internet providers often serve a whole metro from shared equipment, and many databases label that equipment with the best-known city nearby. So an IP in Garland or Mesquite can read as Dallas, one in Hialeah as Miami, one in Chandler as Phoenix. The [city pages](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) show which suburbs share a metro area: the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro alone has 11 cities with a page here. When your target labels everything "Dallas", targeting a suburb gives you a different neighborhood but the same label. When your target distinguishes suburbs, ask for the suburb. ## How do I test accuracy for my own target? 1. Pick 5 to 10 cities you care about. 2. For each, open 5 fresh connections with the `city-` segment and record the exit IP. 3. Look each IP up in the database your target uses (if you know it) and in one general service. 4. Load the target page and note the location it shows (store, delivery area, local results). 5. Count how often the target agrees with the city you asked for. That ratio is the number that matters, and it varies by site. Rerun the test monthly; databases update constantly. The [verification guide](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/) has the code for steps 2 and 3. ## Where should I go next? Test your own exits with the [proxy location checker](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/), narrow requests with [proxy by ZIP code](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/), and pick suburbs from the [city list](https://metroproxies.com/cities/). More on the [guides page](https://metroproxies.com/guides/). ## What else do people ask about accuracy? ### Can MetroProxies guarantee that every database shows the requested city? No provider can, because the databases are run by third parties. We route the request by city; how each database labels the IP is its own estimate. Check exits in the database your target uses. ### Does the time zone or language reveal a different place? A page can read your browser's time zone and language, which come from your device, not from the IP. Set them to match the city you test (each city page gives its IANA time zone) so that the page renders the local version consistently. ### Are mobile IPs located more precisely? Usually less. Mobile carriers route many phones through a few gateways, so mobile IPs are often placed in a large city far from the phone. For city-level work, residential IPs are the better choice. ## Sources 1. No KYC. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/guides/local-price-checks/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) Retail, grocery and delivery sites price by store and ZIP code. A city or ZIP IP lets you record the public price a local shopper sees. **Quick answer — How do I see the price shoppers get in another US city?** Load the public product page through a residential IP in that city, with the store or ZIP the site picks for local shoppers. With **MetroProxies** (from $0.50/GB, October 2026), use `-city-` and `-zip-` segments, keep one sticky session per city, and record the store and ZIP the page shows with each price. No KYC; crypto. ## Why do prices differ between US cities? Several layers stack up: - **Store-level pricing:** grocery and big-box chains price by store; the site chooses a store from your ZIP or IP. - **Delivery and fees:** delivery windows, minimums and fees follow distance from a warehouse. - **Sales tax:** most US sites show prices before tax; the rate at checkout changes by state and city. Our city pages give the state rate and the average combined rate (Tax Foundation, July 2026), from 0% in Oregon to 10.13% on average in Louisiana. - **Regional promotions:** campaigns bought by metro area. Record which layer you measure. A shelf price comparison should hold the store constant; a delivered-cost comparison should include fees and tax. ## How do I set up a price check run? 1. **List the places:** one ZIP code per city, well inside city limits. Each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) lists ZIP areas that lie mostly inside the city. 2. **One sticky session per place:** `USERNAME-country-us-state-ga-city-atlanta-zip-30309-session-atl1-ttl-15`, so the site keeps the same store for the whole visit. 3. **Read the store the page chose** and save it with the price; if it is not the store you expected, set it explicitly on the page if the site offers that. 4. **Keep it light:** public pages only, no login, a few requests per minute per site, and follow robots.txt and the site's terms. Many retailers also offer official product feeds or affiliate APIs; prefer them when they exist. 5. **Verify the exit** in a lookup service at the start of each session. ## How much traffic will it use? Product pages are heavy when fully loaded (often 3 to 8 MB with images and scripts) and light as HTML only (0.2 to 1 MB). For 200 products in 15 cities checked weekly: - HTML only, 0.5 MB each: 200 × 15 × 0.5 MB = 1.5 GB a week, about 6 GB a month: the 10 GB plan ($5.94) lasts more than a month. - Full browser loads, 4 MB each: 12 GB a week, about 48 GB a month: the 50 GB plan ($25.98). Blocking images and fonts in a headless browser often cuts usage by half. Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them. ## Where should I go next? Hold one store per visit with [sticky sessions by city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions-by-city/), pick ZIP codes on [proxy by ZIP code](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/), check exits with the [proxy location checker](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/), and size your plan on the [pricing page](https://metroproxies.com/pricing/). More on the [guides page](https://metroproxies.com/guides/). ## What else do people ask about price checks? ### Can I check prices behind a login? Check public pages only. Logged-in areas are covered by account terms, and some sites forbid automated access to them. If you need data from your own seller or partner account, use the platform's official API. ### Do I need a ZIP or is the city enough? For grocery and delivery prices, use a ZIP: the store is chosen from it. For national retailers with one online price, the city or even the state is enough. ZIP-level geolocation is approximate, so read the store the page shows. ### What if a site blocks my requests? Slow down and stop: a site that refuses automated requests is telling you its rules. Use its official API or feed, or ask for permission. A different IP does not make blocked access permitted. ## Sources 1. MetroProxies includes city targeting on every plan from $1.50 for 1 GB (October 2026). City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. No KYC; crypto. ## What are the five steps to a city IP? 1. **Top up and buy a small plan** — Top up $25 or more in crypto and buy 1 GB ($1.50). Credentials appear in the dashboard once the top-up is confirmed. 2. **Find the city segment** — Open the city's page, for example Las Vegas, and copy the segment: country-us-state-nv-city-las_vegas. 3. **Build the username** — Your username, a dash, then the segment: USERNAME-country-us-state-nv-city-las_vegas. Your password does not change. 4. **Send one test request** — Point your tool at gw.metroproxies.com:7777 and request an IP lookup page to see the exit. 5. **Keep or rotate** — Add -session-lv1-ttl-20 to keep the same IP for up to 20 minutes, or leave it out to get a new IP per connection. *Test request (curl)* ```bash curl -s --max-time 30 -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-nv-city-las_vegas:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 https://ipinfo.io/json ``` ## How do I set a city IP in a browser? Use the HTTP port in browsers: Chrome and Firefox do not send a username to SOCKS5 proxies. - **Firefox:** Settings → Network Settings → Manual proxy configuration → HTTP proxy `gw.metroproxies.com`, port 7777, and tick "Also use this proxy for HTTPS". Firefox asks for the username and password on the first request. - **Chrome and Edge:** they use the system proxy settings. A proxy extension that supports authentication is easier when you switch cities often. - **Automation (Playwright):** pass `proxy: { server: 'http://gw.metroproxies.com:7777', username: 'USERNAME-country-us-state-nv-city-las_vegas', password: 'PASSWORD' }` when you launch the browser. Then set the browser's time zone and language to match the city if the pages you check read them; the proxy changes only the IP. ## Which city should I ask for: the city, the suburb or the metro? Ask for the place your audience lives in, and check what the target thinks it is. - **Big metros contain several large cities.** The Phoenix metro includes Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Scottsdale, Tempe, Peoria and Surprise, each with its own page here. A store or ad targeted at "Phoenix" may also cover them. - **Geolocation databases often round suburbs to the core city.** A Gilbert IP can show as Phoenix in one database. If your target shows the suburb name, target the suburb; if it shows the metro, the core city is enough. - **Prices and stock follow ZIP codes.** For grocery or delivery checks, add a ZIP inside the city: see [ZIP code targeting](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/). ## Where should I go next? Verify the result with the [proxy location checker](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/), keep one IP with [sticky sessions by city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions-by-city/), and see every option in the [username format](https://metroproxies.com/docs/username-format/). More on the [guides page](https://metroproxies.com/guides/). ## What else do people ask about city IPs? ### Can I get the same city IP tomorrow? Not reliably. Residential IPs belong to home devices that go offline and change addresses. A sticky session holds one IP for up to 30 minutes; for longer work, use the same city segment each day and accept a new IP. ### Which rules apply when I use a city proxy? We do not give legal advice. A proxy changes where your requests come from, not which laws or site terms apply to you: the law where you are, the law where the site operates and each site's terms still apply. Our [acceptable use policy](https://metroproxies.com/acceptable-use/) lists what MetroProxies blocks and forbids. ### What if my city has no page? The `city-` segment also accepts cities without a page. Write the name in lower case with underscores and keep the state segment; if no IP is online, widen to the state. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. Home IPs are requested by city, state, ZIP code or ISP network, with a page of local data for each of 181 US cities. --- # Residential proxy sticky sessions by US city > Keep the same US city IP for up to 30 minutes with session- and ttl- segments: naming, one session per city, and what to do when the IP changes. No KYC. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions-by-city/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) Rotating IPs suit wide samples; a sticky session suits anything that spans several pages, such as a cart, a store picker or a multi-step form on your own site. **Quick answer — How do I keep the same city IP across several requests?** Add a session ID and a time to live to the city username: `USERNAME-country-us-state-mo-city-st_louis-session-stl1-ttl-20` asks **MetroProxies** to keep one St. Louis IP for up to 20 minutes. Sessions last up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier. Included on plans from $0.50/GB (October 2026). No KYC; crypto. ## How do sticky sessions work? | Attribute | Value | | --- | --- | | Segments | `session-{id}` and `ttl-{minutes}`, after the city or ZIP | | Maximum | up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier | | Session ID | Letters and digits you choose; a new ID gives a new IP | | Rotating mode | Each new connection gets an IP from the pool, usually a different one; to get a new IP on every request, send one request per connection (turn off keep-alive) | | Cost | Included; billed by traffic only | ## When do I need a sticky session? When the steps of one check must come from the same address. - **Multi-page flows on your own site:** add to cart, choose a store, see the shipping estimate. A change of IP in the middle can reset the location the site picked. - **Before-and-after comparisons:** load a page, change one setting, load it again from the same IP. - **Pages that set location on the first visit:** some sites store the detected city in a cookie; keep the IP so the cookie and the IP agree. For wide samples (100 cities, one page each), rotating mode is simpler: each new connection gets a new IP in the requested city. ## How should I name sessions when I run many cities? Use one session ID per city and per run, so that results never share an IP by accident and a retry gets a fresh one. - `-city-boise-session-boi20261018a-ttl-15` - `-city-spokane-session-spo20261018a-ttl-15` - On retry after a failure: change the suffix (`...b`) to get a new IP. Short, readable IDs make logs easy to read: the city code, the date and a letter are enough. Do not reuse the same ID across different cities. ## What happens when the IP changes before the TTL? It can happen: up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier. A residential IP belongs to a home device; if that device goes offline or its provider renews the address, the session cannot keep it. Handle it in code: 1. Record the exit IP at the start of the session (one lookup request). 2. If a later step fails with a connection error, check the exit IP again. 3. If it changed, start the flow again with a new session ID rather than mixing two IPs in one result. Keep the TTL as short as the flow needs. A 5-minute flow does not need a 30-minute session, and shorter sessions are less exposed to device changes. *Python: one sticky session per city, restarted if the IP changes* ```python import requests GATEWAY = "gw.metroproxies.com:7777" def session_for(user: str, password: str, state: str, city: str, sid: str, ttl: int = 15) -> requests.Session: name = f"{user}-country-us-state-{state}-city-{city}-session-{sid}-ttl-{ttl}" proxy = f"http://{name}:{password}@{GATEWAY}" s = requests.Session() s.proxies = {"http": proxy, "https": proxy} return s def exit_ip(s: requests.Session) -> str: return s.get("https://api.ipify.org", timeout=30).text.strip() s = session_for("USERNAME", "PASSWORD", "mo", "st_louis", "stl20261018a") first = exit_ip(s) # ... your multi-step check on your own site goes here ... if exit_ip(s) != first: print("IP changed during the flow: restart with a new session ID") ``` ## Where should I go next? Check the exit with the [proxy location checker](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/), use sessions for [local price checks](https://metroproxies.com/guides/local-price-checks/) and [ad checks by city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/city-level-ad-checks/), and see every segment in the [username format](https://metroproxies.com/docs/username-format/). More on the [guides page](https://metroproxies.com/guides/). ## What else do people ask about sticky sessions? ### Can I keep a city IP for a whole day? No. up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier. For day-long work, keep the city constant and accept that the IP changes; record the IP with each result. ### Does a sticky session cost more? No. You pay for traffic only, whether the session is rotating or sticky. ### How many sessions can I run at once? Each session ID is independent, and you can run many in parallel from one account. With **MetroProxies** (city targeting from $0.50/GB, October 2026), compare the result with the `city-` segment you sent. No KYC; crypto. ## What should I check, and in what order? 1. **That the proxy works:** you get an answer and the IP is not your own. 2. **The state:** almost every database agrees on it. A wrong state means a wrong request (check the `state-` segment). 3. **The city or metro:** the most useful check for city work. Suburbs are often labelled with the core city. 4. **The network (ASN):** it tells you which home provider the IP comes from, and lets you hold it constant with `asn-`. 5. **The target's own view:** many sites show the detected location on the page (store picker, "deliver to" line, local currency or tax). That is the location that counts. Record the IP, city, region and ASN next to every result, so you can explain a strange data point later. *curl: one request, one lookup* ```bash curl -s --max-time 30 \ -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-or-city-portland:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 \ https://ipinfo.io/json ``` ## How do I check several cities in a script? The Python example below asks for one IP per city, prints where each exit geolocates and flags mismatches. It uses `requests` (`pip install requests`), opens a new connection per city so each city gets its own IP, and stops on errors instead of retrying in a loop. Replace `USERNAME` and `PASSWORD` with your proxy credentials from the dashboard. *Python 3.10+: check the exit city of several US cities* ```python import requests GATEWAY = "gw.metroproxies.com:7777" USER, PASSWORD = "USERNAME", "PASSWORD" # (state code, city segment, city name as lookup services usually spell it) CITIES = [("or", "portland", "Portland"), ("tx", "san_antonio", "San Antonio"), ("fl", "tampa", "Tampa")] def exit_info(state: str, city: str) -> dict: user = f"{USER}-country-us-state-{state}-city-{city}" proxy = f"http://{user}:{PASSWORD}@{GATEWAY}" with requests.Session() as s: # a fresh session = a fresh connection = a fresh IP r = s.get("https://ipinfo.io/json", proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=30) r.raise_for_status() return r.json() for state, segment, expected in CITIES: try: info = exit_info(state, segment) except requests.RequestException as e: print(f"{segment}: request failed ({e.__class__.__name__}); widen to the state or retry later") continue city, region, org = info.get("city"), info.get("region"), info.get("org") flag = "ok" if city == expected else "check" print(f"{segment:12} -> {info.get('ip')} {city}, {region} {org} [{flag}]") ``` *Node.js 18+: the same check with undici* ```javascript // save as check.mjs, then: npm install undici && node check.mjs import { ProxyAgent, fetch } from 'undici'; const gateway = 'http://gw.metroproxies.com:7777'; const user = 'USERNAME-country-us-state-co-city-colorado_springs'; const token = 'Basic ' + Buffer.from(`${user}:PASSWORD`).toString('base64'); const agent = new ProxyAgent({ uri: gateway, token }); const res = await fetch('https://ipinfo.io/json', { dispatcher: agent, signal: AbortSignal.timeout(30000) }); if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`HTTP ${res.status}`); const info = await res.json(); console.log(info.ip, info.city, info.region, info.org); await agent.close(); ``` ## What if the city does not match? A mismatch is common and usually harmless; first find out which kind it is. - **Neighboring city or suburb** (Mesa reported as Phoenix, Hialeah as Miami): the databases draw city lines differently. Check the target's own view; if it shows the right metro, you are fine. - **Right metro, wrong state** (Kansas City, Kansas versus Missouri): use the state segment and compare with the target's view; metro areas cross state lines. - **A different region entirely:** retry once with a new connection. If it repeats, send the IP, the time and your username (never your password) to support. Do not pick IPs one by one until a database agrees: databases change every week. Decide which database matters for your job, and accept the small share of IPs it places elsewhere. ## Where should I go next? Get the IP first with [change your IP to another city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/proxy-with-specific-city-ip/), keep it with [sticky sessions by city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/sticky-sessions-by-city/), and read why databases disagree in [accurate city-level proxies](https://metroproxies.com/guides/ip-geolocation-accuracy/). All guides are on the [guides page](https://metroproxies.com/guides/); code is in the [curl](https://metroproxies.com/docs/curl/) and [Python](https://metroproxies.com/docs/python/) docs. ## What else do people ask about location checks? ### Which IP lookup service should I use? Use the one closest to your target: if you test a site that uses a given geolocation provider, check with that provider. For general checks, ipinfo.io and similar services return city, region and ASN in one JSON reply. Respect each service's rate limits. ### Can I check the location on Google? Not with a script. Google's terms prohibit automated access that ignores robots.txt, and google.com/robots.txt disallows /search. Check manually in a browser set to the proxy, or use an approved data provider for volume. ### Why does my browser still show my real time zone? Because the proxy changes only the IP address. The browser's time zone, language and saved location come from your device. Set them to match the city (for Portland, `America/Los_Angeles`) if the page you test reads them. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. No ID upload. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/payments/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) Top up a balance in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL or LTC, then buy any plan from it. **Quick answer — How do I pay MetroProxies in crypto?** Pick a plan and the checkout proposes its price as the top-up (at least $25). Choose a coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC), send the exact amount shown on the network shown, then click I've sent the payment: the top-up is matched by its exact amount and credited once confirmed. Plans start at $1.50 (October 2026). No ID upload. ## How does a crypto top-up work? 1. **Top up the price of your plan** — Pick a plan: the checkout proposes its price as the top-up (less any balance you already have, and at least {min}). Choose the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC); the crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes. 2. **Send it to the address shown, on the exact network** — The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount. 3. **Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”** — Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account. 4. **Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain** — Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times: 5. **One balance for every product** — If you started from a plan, the top-up is its exact price (or the minimum, for a smaller plan): the plan is bought as soon as the top-up is credited, and your proxies are delivered. What is left stays on your balance: use it for any product — residential, dedicated 4G/5G ports or rotating mobile — paid instantly. | Crypto | Network | Confirmations | Usual time | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Bitcoin (BTC) | Bitcoin | 2 | ≈ 20 min | | Tether (USDT) | Tron (TRC-20) | 20 | ≈ 1 min | | Tether (USDT) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min | | USD Coin (USDC) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min | | Ethereum (ETH) | Ethereum | 12 | ≈ 5 min | | Solana (SOL) | Solana | 1 | ≈ 1 min | | Litecoin (LTC) | Litecoin | 6 | ≈ 15 min | Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again. ## Which coin and network should I choose? Choose the coin you hold and the network your wallet or exchange sends on, and make sure the two match the payment page. - **USDT** on TRC-20 (Tron) usually has low fees; USDT on ERC-20 (Ethereum) works too. - **USDC** on ERC-20. - **BTC**, **ETH**, **SOL** and **LTC** on their own networks. Sending USDT on the wrong network (for example BEP-20 when the page says TRC-20) can lose the payment. If your exchange deducts a withdrawal fee from the amount, add it so that the exact amount arrives; the top-up is matched by its amount. ## What happens after I pay? 1. The payment page waits for the network confirmations it states for your coin. 2. Your balance is credited once confirmed. 3. If you started from a plan, that plan is then bought from the balance; otherwise, choose a plan. 4. Credentials appear in your dashboard as soon as you buy a plan from your confirmed crypto balance. We do not promise a fixed delay: it depends on the network. ## Which coins are accepted? - Bitcoin (BTC) - Tether (USDT) — TRC-20 or ERC-20 - USD Coin (USDC) — ERC-20 - Ethereum (ETH) - Solana (SOL) - Litecoin (LTC) ## Where should I go next? Next: choose a plan on the [pricing page](https://metroproxies.com/pricing/), set up your first request with the [five-minute setup](https://metroproxies.com/docs/quickstart/), and keep the [refund policy](https://metroproxies.com/refunds/) and the [FAQ](https://metroproxies.com/faq/) at hand. The [home page](https://metroproxies.com/) sums up the offer. ## What else do people ask about paying? ### Do I need to upload ID to pay? No. No KYC: no ID, no selfie, no documents to sign up, top up or buy. Your account number is your login; adding an email is optional and only helps with recovery. ### I sent the wrong amount. Is it lost? Not necessarily. Write to support@metroproxies.com with the coin, the network and the transaction ID. We will check what can be done; we cannot promise a result, because crypto payments cannot be reversed. ### Can I get a refund in crypto? Credits go back to your balance under the [refund policy](https://metroproxies.com/refunds/). Top-ups are not paid back, except where the law requires it; the part added only to reach the $25 minimum is refundable on request within 30 days, in USDT or USDC, if unspent. --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. City, state, ZIP and ASN targeting are included at every tier. No KYC; pay in crypto from a $25 top-up. ## What does each residential tier cost? Each plan is a block of traffic that never expires. Buy the size you need now and top up later; a larger plan lowers the price per GB, it does not lock you into a subscription. | Plan | Quantity | Price | Price per unit | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Test | 1 GB | $1.50 | $1.50/GB | | Starter | 5 GB | $3.75 | $0.75/GB | | Local | 10 GB | $5.94 | $0.59/GB | | Regional | 50 GB | $25.98 | $0.52/GB | | National | 100 GB | $50 | $0.50/GB | | Scale | 500 GB | $250 | $0.50/GB | | Terabyte | 1 TB | $500 | $0.50/GB | In every plan: City, state, ZIP and ASN targeting · Rotating or sticky sessions up to 30 minutes · HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 · Sub-users with their own traffic cap · Traffic that never expires **Pay with:** Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC) — Top-up = plan price, from $25 · no KYC ## How do these prices compare with named providers? A dedicated modem on a US carrier, billed per day with unlimited data under fair use. Dedicated ports are subject to stock per country and carrier; the checkout lists the carriers in stock. If we cannot deliver your port within 24 hours, its full price goes back to your balance. Ports are country-level: they are not targeted by city. | Plan | Quantity | Price | Price per unit | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | US port · 1 day | 1 port · 1 day | $3.75 | $3.75/day | | US port · 7 days | 1 port · 7 days | $15 | $2.14/day | | US port · 30 days | 1 port · 30 days | $45 | $1.50/day | In every plan: Carriers in stock: T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon · Unlimited data on your dedicated port, under fair use: the carrier may slow or pause very heavy use. One customer per modem, no resale · New IP by link or API, at most once every 30 seconds, or on a timer · Proxy (data) access only: no SMS, no calls, and no direct access to the SIM card or the device ## How much is rotating mobile traffic per GB? A shared pool of 4G/5G carrier IPs, billed per GB. Rotating mobile (per GB): country-level targeting on every plan: no city or ZIP targeting on this product. | Plan | Quantity | Price | Price per unit | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Mobile 1 GB | 1 GB | $2.99 | $2.99/GB | | Mobile 5 GB | 5 GB | $13.30 | $2.66/GB | | Mobile 10 GB | 10 GB | $26.20 | $2.62/GB | | Mobile 50 GB | 50 GB | $75 | $1.50/GB | | Mobile 100 GB | 100 GB | $150 | $1.50/GB | In every plan: Protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 · Targeting: Country level on every plan · Traffic expiry: Never expires **Before you pay** - You top up the price of your plan. The checkout asks for the plan price (less your balance), at least $25; anything left stays on your balance. How payment works ## How much traffic does a city check use? It depends on the page, not on the city. A plain HTML product or search page is often 0.1 to 2 MB; a full browser load with images and scripts can reach 3 to 8 MB. Measure your own target once, then multiply: - 300 page loads at 2 MB in each of 10 cities: 6 GB, so the 10 GB plan ($5.94). - 1,000 HTML requests at 0.5 MB in each of 50 cities: 25 GB, so the 50 GB plan ($25.98). - A browser run that blocks images and fonts often uses less than half the data of a full load. Usage counts all data sent and received through the proxy (upload and download, headers included). 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes. Connection attempts that fail before reaching the target are not counted. Unused GB stay on your account, so a slightly larger plan costs nothing later. ## How does paying in crypto work? | Crypto | Network | Confirmations | Usual time | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Bitcoin (BTC) | Bitcoin | 2 | ≈ 20 min | | Tether (USDT) | Tron (TRC-20) | 20 | ≈ 1 min | | Tether (USDT) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min | | USD Coin (USDC) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | 12 | ≈ 5 min | | Ethereum (ETH) | Ethereum | 12 | ≈ 5 min | | Solana (SOL) | Solana | 1 | ≈ 1 min | | Litecoin (LTC) | Litecoin | 6 | ≈ 15 min | Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again. ## Where should I go next? Read [how to pay in crypto](https://metroproxies.com/payments/) and the [refund policy](https://metroproxies.com/refunds/) before you buy, compare us with seven providers in the [price comparison](https://metroproxies.com/research/us-city-proxy-price-index-2026/) and the [best US city proxies 2026](https://metroproxies.com/best/us-city-proxies-2026/), or go straight to [residential proxies by city](https://metroproxies.com/residential-proxies/). ## What do people ask about paying? ### Is there a free trial? No free trial: test with the 1 GB plan, paid from the minimum top-up; the rest of the top-up stays on your balance. With a $25 top-up you can buy 1 GB for $1.50 and keep the rest of the balance for a larger plan later. ### Which coins can I pay with? BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. USDT works on TRC-20 or ERC-20 and USDC on ERC-20. Send the exact amount shown on the payment page to the address shown, on the network shown, then click I've sent the payment; the top-up is matched by its exact amount and credited once confirmed. ### Do prices differ by city or state? No. Every US city and state uses the same tiers. A ZIP code in Manhattan and a ZIP code in Lubbock cost the same per GB, and targeting by city, state, ZIP or ASN adds nothing. ### Can I get my money back? Details are on the [refund policy](https://metroproxies.com/refunds/). ### Does unused traffic expire? Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them. ### Can I pay by card or bank transfer? No. MetroProxies takes crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. There is no card form and no bank transfer. Each top-up is the price of the plan you pick, at least $25. ## Price sources (read on 18 October 2026) 1. No KYC; crypto only. ## What does city-targeted US traffic cost per GB? List price per GB for the volume shown, when the traffic is targeted to a US city. Where a provider bills city traffic at a different rate, that rate is used. A provider counts with its largest published plan at or below the volume, or its pay-as-you-go rate; "—" means no public plan at or below that volume. *Sources and reading dates below. "Sale" = a discounted price shown next to a struck-through list price with no end date; Webshare's struck-through list price is $7.00/GB at every tier. IPRoyal's page lists 1, 2 and 10 GB, then custom plans from 10 TB. DataImpulse's smallest regular plan is 50 GB ($50); its 5 GB intro pack is for new customers only.* | Provider | 1 GB | 10 GB | 50 GB | 100 GB | 1 TB | City targeting | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | MetroProxies | $1.50/GB | $0.59/GB | $0.52/GB | $0.50/GB | $0.50/GB | Included, with state, ZIP and ASN | | Geonode (monthly plans) | — | $0.79 | $0.69 | $0.65 | $0.50 | "Where live IPs are available" | | Thordata | $2.00 (sale) | $1.80 (sale) | $1.50 (sale) | $1.50 (sale) | $0.73 | Included | | DataImpulse | — | — | $2.00 | $2.00 | $1.60 | Billed at double the $1/GB standard rate | | Webshare (monthly plans) | $3.50 (sale) | $2.75 (sale) | $2.45 (sale) | $2.25 (sale) | $1.50 (sale) | Listed | | Decodo (monthly plans, + VAT) | $4.00 | $3.50 | $3.00 | $2.75 | $2.00 | Included, with state, ZIP and ASN | | IPRoyal (pay as you go) | $7.35 | $5.51 | — | — | — | Included | | Median of the six other providers | $3.75 | $2.75 | $2.00 | $2.00 | $1.50 | | *Prices checked on October 18, 2026.* Other providers sell for less at some volumes: Geonode is at $0.50/GB at 1 TB, the same as us, and at $0.468/GB at 2 TB. We do not claim to be the cheapest at any volume. ## What does the index show? Three patterns stand out in the October 2026 prices. 1. **City targeting is usually included, but not always free.** Five of the six other providers include city targeting in the list price. DataImpulse documents that city-targeted traffic is "billed at double the standard rate", which turns $1/GB into $2/GB. 2. **Small volumes cost about two and a half times more per GB.** The median falls from $3.75/GB for a single gigabyte to $1.50/GB at 1 TB, and two of the six providers have no public plan under 10 GB. 3. **Discounts are permanent fixtures.** Webshare and Thordata show most of their prices next to a struck-through "original" price; we record the price you pay and mark it as a sale. Two providers are left out of the table because their prices do not map to a volume of city traffic: SOAX sells monthly credit plans from $200 (+ VAT) with prices by location tier, and keeps ZIP and ASN targeting for plans from $1,500; Oxylabs lists $6/GB up to 5 GB and plans from $30 a month without saying which tier applies to which plan. ## What does the FCC map say about the 181 cities? - **37.6M** residential units (in the 181 cities, FCC map, Dec 2025 data) - **57%** median fiber availability (share of homes that can order fiber) - **94%** median cable availability (share of homes that can order cable) - **152** cities led by Xfinity, Spectrum or Cox (68 + 57 + 27, by wired coverage share) ## Which internet providers sit behind US city IPs? A residential IP belongs to the home connection it comes from, so the providers serving a city shape what an exit IP looks like. From the FCC National Broadband Map (December 2025 data, read 18 October 2026) across our 181 city pages: - **Cable dominates first place.** The provider with the largest wired coverage share is Xfinity (Comcast) in 68 cities, Spectrum (Charter) in 57 and Cox in 27. - **AT&T is the most widespread second network.** In its 21 wireline states, AT&T serves at least 20% of homes in 124 of our cities. - **Fiber is uneven.** Lincoln (NE), Chattanooga and Clarksville (TN) report fiber at 99.9% to 100% of homes; Baltimore (13%), Naperville (7%) and Anchorage (6%) are at the bottom. - **Municipal networks matter locally.** EPB in Chattanooga, CDE Lightband in Clarksville and KUB Fiber in Knoxville each reach 95% or more of homes in their city. The [ASN targeting page](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/asn/) turns this into AS numbers, and each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) has its own provider list. ## How was the index built? - **Prices:** each provider's public residential pricing page, read on 18 October 2026, in US dollars. Coupon codes are left out. Sale prices with no end date are kept and marked. City-targeting surcharges are applied where the provider documents them. - **Volume rule:** for each volume, the largest published plan at or below it, else the pay-as-you-go rate. Monthly subscriptions are compared by their monthly price; ours are one-off blocks that do not renew. - **Providers:** the residential providers that publish per-GB prices and city targeting and are commonly cited in comparisons of US proxies. Providers whose network was seized in 2026 (NetNut) are excluded. - **City data:** Census Vintage 2024 population, the FCC National Broadband Map area summaries for each Census place, NANPA area codes and the Census 2020 ZIP (ZCTA) relationship file. The data may be reused with a link to this page. Next update: when a provider in the table changes its public prices, or in January 2027 at the latest. ## Where should I go next? Turn the data into a choice with the [best US city proxies 2026](https://metroproxies.com/best/us-city-proxies-2026/) and [geo-targeting proxy prices](https://metroproxies.com/compare/city-targeting-cost/), see [our pricing](https://metroproxies.com/pricing/), or browse the [181 city pages](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) and [state pages](https://metroproxies.com/states/) behind the FCC figures. ## What else do people ask about the index? ### Why measure city-targeted traffic instead of the headline price? Because the headline price is not always the price of city traffic. On 18 October 2026 DataImpulse's standard rate was $1/GB, but its documentation said city-targeted traffic is billed at double. For anyone who needs one specific US city, the city rate is the real cost. ### Is MetroProxies included in the median? No. The median is computed over the six other providers in the table, so that our own price does not move the benchmark. ### Do any of these providers require ID? Policies differ and change. On the pages we read, Webshare said some targets can be unblocked after a brief KYC procedure, and IPRoyal's documentation said ISP targeting needs a verified ID. MetroProxies does not ask for identity documents to open an account or buy a plan. ## Sources (read on 18 October 2026) 1. [Pricing](https://geonode.com/pricing) — Geonode (2026-10-18) 2. Many US websites change what they show by metro area, not by country. A national IP gives you one random place; a city IP gives you the version that people in that city get. - **Local search and maps:** the businesses listed for "plumber" in Tucson are not the ones listed in Tampa. - **Prices and stock:** grocery, retail and delivery sites often price by store or ZIP code. - **Ads:** campaigns are bought by designated market area or ZIP radius, so a creative may run in Denver and not in Aurora. - **Your own product:** store finders, geo-redirects, tax and shipping estimates need testing from the places your customers live. A country-level pool spreads requests across 50 states. With `city-` targeting, every request in a run comes from the same city, which makes results comparable from one day to the next. ## How do I write the city into the username? Add segments to your username, left to right, from the widest place to the narrowest. Use only what you need. - `USERNAME-country-us` — any US residential IP. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-oh` — any IP in Ohio. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-columbus` — Columbus, Ohio. The state matters: there is also a Columbus in Georgia. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-columbus-zip-43215` — downtown Columbus. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-columbus-asn-20115` — a Spectrum (Charter) IP in Columbus, when one is online. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-oh-city-columbus-session-col1-ttl-20` — the same Columbus IP for up to 20 minutes. City names are lower case with underscores for spaces: `city-new_york`, `city-salt_lake_city`. Each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) prints the exact segment, and the [username reference](https://metroproxies.com/docs/username-format/) lists every parameter. ## Which plan should I start with? Start with 1 GB to check that your target accepts the city you need, then buy volume. All tiers include every targeting option. | Plan | Quantity | Price | Price per unit | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Test | 1 GB | $1.50 | $1.50/GB | | Local | 10 GB | $5.94 | $0.59/GB | | Regional | 50 GB | $25.98 | $0.52/GB | | National | 100 GB | $50 | $0.50/GB | In every plan: City, state, ZIP and ASN targeting · Rotating or sticky sessions up to 30 minutes · HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 · Sub-users with their own traffic cap · Traffic that never expires **Before you pay** - You top up the price of your plan. The checkout asks for the plan price (less your balance), at least $25; anything left stays on your balance. - Unused balance stays on your account and never expires. When a purchase costs less than the minimum top-up, the part added only to reach the minimum is refundable on request to support within 30 days of the payment, in USDT or USDC, as long as it has not been spent. The rest of the balance is not paid back, except where the law requires it. - Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain. Typical network confirmation time: BTC ≈ 20 min · USDT TRC-20 ≈ 1 min · USDT ERC-20 ≈ 5 min · USDC ERC-20 ≈ 5 min · ETH ≈ 5 min · SOL ≈ 1 min · LTC ≈ 15 min ## What happens when a city has no IP online? Residential IPs come from real home connections, so the number online in one city moves through the day. City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. When no IP matches, the request can fail, so check the exit location of each session before you trust a result: that is the only way to be sure two runs came from the same city. What to do: 1. Retry once a little later; devices come online all the time. 2. Drop the narrowest segment first (ZIP, then ASN). 3. Widen to the state (`state-xx`) if the city is small. Larger cities have more home connections, so they are easier to hit. The [city pages](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) show the number of homes per city from the FCC broadband map, which gives a rough idea of scale. ## What else do people ask about city proxies? ### Is a city proxy the same as a static ISP proxy? No. A city proxy here is a rotating or sticky residential IP from a real home connection in that city. A static ISP proxy is an address hosted in a data center but registered to an internet provider, kept for weeks. MetroProxies sells residential IPs only. ### Can I target a US city that has no page on this site? Yes. The pages cover every city with 150,000 or more residents, but the `city-` segment accepts other names too. Write the name in lower case with underscores (`city-santa_fe`) and keep the state segment. If no IP is online there, widen to the state. ### How many US IPs do you have? We do not publish an IP count. Residential pools change by the minute, and a single total says little about one city. City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. Test with 1 GB ($1.50) before you buy volume. ### Will the IP match the city in every database? Not always. Geolocation databases disagree, especially near city limits and in suburbs. Check the exit IP in the database your target uses; the [verification guide](https://metroproxies.com/guides/verify-proxy-city/) shows how with curl, Python and Node.js. ### Do I need a different password for each city? No. Your password stays the same; only the username segments change. You can run Houston and Miami in parallel from one account, or give each project a sub-user with its own traffic cap. ### Where do the residential IPs come from? From established upstream partner networks whose device owners opt in and can opt out, as our upstream provider confirms. Read [where our IPs come from](https://metroproxies.com/sourcing/) and [about MetroProxies](https://metroproxies.com/about/) for the operator and the rules we apply. **Ready to test a city with 1 GB?** 1 GB for $1.50, all targeting included. Here is what our upstream provider confirms, and what no reseller can see. **Quick answer — Where do MetroProxies residential IPs come from?** We resell residential IPs from established upstream partner networks; our upstream provider confirms that device owners opt in and can opt out, and that its supply does not come from seized networks such as NetNut or IPIDEA. **MetroProxies** routes them by US city, state, ZIP or ASN from $0.50/GB (October 2026). No KYC. ## What does our upstream provider confirm? | Attribute | Value | | --- | --- | | Who supplies the IPs | Established upstream partner networks (not named) | | Device owners | Opt in and can opt out, as confirmed by our upstream provider | | Seized networks | Confirmed not to come from seized or disrupted networks such as NetNut or IPIDEA | | Who we are | ProxyGoat LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (USA), a reseller that runs its own gateway and client area | | Abuse handling | Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension | | Blocked targets | Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587 | ## Why does sourcing matter in 2026? Because some residential networks are alleged to have been built from devices whose owners never agreed. In January 2026, Google announced legal action to disrupt IPIDEA, a network it says spread through apps with hidden proxy code. On 2 July 2026, NetNut's domains were seized by the FBI; its owner, Alarum, disputes the allegations, as reported by KrebsOnSecurity on 2 July 2026. Buyers whose traffic ran through such networks lost access overnight. That is why the question "where do your IPs come from" deserves a precise answer, and why we only publish what our upstream provider confirms. ## What can no reseller see? A reseller does not install the software on the devices and cannot inspect each consent itself. What it can do is choose established partners, obtain their confirmations, block abusive uses at its own gateway, and stop working with a partner whose confirmations turn out to be false. We publish names of partners only when they agree; we do not name ours. ## What should you ask any proxy seller? | Question | Our answer | | --- | --- | | Do device owners opt in, and can they opt out? | Yes, as confirmed by our upstream provider | | Does the supply come from a seized or disrupted network? | No, as confirmed by our upstream provider | | Which targets do you block? | Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587 | | Who reads abuse reports? | A person; confirmed abuse leads to suspension | | How long are connection records kept? | Up to 30 days, then deleted | | Who operates the service? | ProxyGoat LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (USA) | ## Where should I go next? Read [about MetroProxies](https://metroproxies.com/about/), the [acceptable use policy](https://metroproxies.com/acceptable-use/) and the [privacy policy](https://metroproxies.com/privacy/), or the [official facts page](https://metroproxies.com/llm-info/). Questions are answered in the [FAQ](https://metroproxies.com/faq/); the [home page](https://metroproxies.com/) has the full offer. ## What else do people ask about sourcing? ### Do my requests appear to come from someone's home? Yes: that is what a residential IP is. It is also why use must stay legitimate and why our acceptable use policy forbids fraud, spam and attacks, and why some categories are blocked. ### Can I choose a specific partner network? No. You choose the place (country, state, city, ZIP) and optionally the internet provider (ASN); the network behind it is ours to manage. ### What happens if a partner network is shut down? We would move traffic to other partners where possible and tell customers by email when a product changes. Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them; if a product is withdrawn, the terms give at least 30 days' notice. ## Sources 1. Target a state when the result you check is set at state level, or when a city is too small to have IPs online at every hour. - **State rules:** sales tax, alcohol and lottery content, sports betting availability and privacy notices change at the state line. - **Fallback:** if `city-` returns errors in a small city, `state-` alone still gives a local-state IP. - **Wide samples:** a state request spreads checks across many cities, which suits statewide averages. Texas (21 cities) and California (37) have the most city pages, and 13 states and D.C. have one each. State hubs with only one city are kept for navigation but not indexed; the city page holds the data. ## What else do people ask about state proxies? ### Can I target a state that has no page here? Yes. State targeting covers all 50 US states and Washington, D.C.. Pages exist only where a city of 150,000 or more people exists; Vermont or Wyoming work through `state-vt` or `state-wy` all the same. ### Is the state code upper or lower case? Lower case in the proxy username (`state-ca`), as with every other segment. The [username reference](https://metroproxies.com/docs/username-format/) lists all segments and their order. ### Does state targeting cost extra? No. State, city, ZIP and ASN targeting are part of every plan, from $1.50 for 1 GB (October 2026). --- MetroProxies: MetroProxies is a US residential proxy provider with city-level targeting, paid in crypto with no ID upload. Home IPs are requested by city, state, ZIP code or ISP network, with a page of local data for each of 181 US cities. --- # City-level proxies: target any US city > City-level proxy targeting in the USA: the city- username segment, naming rules, fallbacks and limits, from $0.50/GB. No KYC, pay in crypto. - URL: https://metroproxies.com/targeting/city/ - Last updated: 2026-10-18 - Publisher: MetroProxies (https://metroproxies.com) How the `city-` segment works, how to write city names, and what to do when a city has no IP online. **Quick answer — How do I get a proxy in a specific US city?** Add `state-` and `city-` segments to the proxy username: `USERNAME-country-us-state-ga-city-atlanta` asks the **MetroProxies** gateway for a residential IP in Atlanta. City targeting is included on every plan from $0.50/GB (October 2026), with no surcharge. City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. No KYC; crypto payments. ## How does the city segment work? | Attribute | Value | | --- | --- | | Segment | `city-{name}` after `country-us` and `state-{code}` | | Name format | Lower case, spaces become underscores: `city-san_jose`, `city-oklahoma_city` | | Full format | `USERNAME-country-{cc}-state-{state}-city-{city}-zip-{zip}-asn-{asn}-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}` | | Gateway | `gw.metroproxies.com`, port 7777 (HTTP/HTTPS) or 7778 (SOCKS5) | | Price | Included in every plan; from $0.50/GB (October 2026) | | Cities with a page | 181; other city names also accepted | | Availability | City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online | | Sessions | Rotating, or sticky up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier | ## Why should I always send the state with the city? Because US city names repeat. On this site alone there are two Aurora pages (Colorado and Illinois), two Columbus (Ohio and Georgia), two Glendale (Arizona and California), two Kansas City (Missouri and Kansas) and two Springfield (Missouri and Massachusetts). Across the country there are dozens of Springfields. - `USERNAME-country-us-state-co-city-aurora` — Aurora, Colorado (403,130 residents in 2024). - `USERNAME-country-us-state-il-city-aurora` — Aurora, Illinois (180,710). Without the state, the name is ambiguous. With it, the gateway knows which one you meant, and the exit check you run afterwards has one right answer. For wider requests, see [state-level proxies](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/state/). ## How do I write city names with spaces, dots or hyphens? Lower case, letters and digits only, with underscores between words: - New York City → `city-new_york` (the city segment for all five boroughs) - Salt Lake City → `city-salt_lake_city` - St. Louis → `city-st_louis` (the dot is dropped) - Winston-Salem → `city-winston_salem` (the hyphen becomes an underscore) Each [city page](https://metroproxies.com/cities/) prints its exact segment, so you can copy it instead of guessing. If a name returns no IP at all, at any hour, write to support with the city and state: we can check the spelling the gateway expects. ## What does "city availability varies" mean in practice? Residential IPs belong to real home connections that go online and offline. A city of 2 million has many more devices online at 9 p.m. than a city of 160,000 at 4 a.m. City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online; we do not promise a fixed number of IPs in any city. Plan for it: 1. Test your city with 1 GB ($1.50) at the hours you will run your job. 2. Keep sticky sessions short when you need many distinct IPs, long when you need one stable IP. 3. Fall back to `state-` when a small city is empty, and log which level each result came from. The FCC data on each city page (number of homes, providers) gives a sense of scale, but it describes the city, not our pool. *Check the city of an exit IP (curl)* ```bash curl -s -x http://USERNAME-country-us-state-ga-city-atlanta:PASSWORD@gw.metroproxies.com:7777 https://ipinfo.io/json ``` ## Which providers include city targeting, and at what cost? Most residential providers offer city targeting; the difference is the price. On 18 October 2026: - **DataImpulse** documents that traffic using its city parameter "is billed at double the standard rate" ($1/GB standard). - **SOAX** includes city and region on all plans but keeps ZIP and ASN targeting for its Scale ($1,500/month + VAT) and Enterprise plans. - **Decodo** lists city, state, ZIP and ASN targeting on each residential plan, from $3.75/GB on 3 GB. - **MetroProxies** includes city, state, ZIP and ASN targeting from 1 GB at $1.50. The full comparison is on [what city targeting costs](https://metroproxies.com/compare/city-targeting-cost/). ## What else do people ask about city targeting? ### Does the city segment work with SOCKS5? Yes. The username is the same on port 7777 (HTTP/HTTPS) and port 7778 (SOCKS5). Browsers such as Chrome and Firefox do not send a username to SOCKS5 proxies, so use the HTTP port in a browser. ### Can I combine a city with a ZIP code? Yes: `USERNAME-country-us-state-ga-city-atlanta-zip-30318`. Keep the ZIP inside the city, or the request may find nothing. See [ZIP code targeting](https://metroproxies.com/targeting/zip-code/). ### Can I rotate between several cities in one job? Yes: change the city segment per request or per session. Loop over a list of city segments and keep one sticky session per city, so that each city's results come from one IP. ### Is city targeting available outside the United States? Country and city targeting on every plan; in the United States also state and ZIP code; ASN targeting at no extra cost. City availability varies. This site covers US cities; state and ZIP targeting are US-only. ## Sources 1. [City parameter](https://docs.dataimpulse.com/proxies/parameters/city) — DataImpulse (2026-10-18) 2. Use the state when the thing you check changes at the state line, or when the city is too small to rely on. - **State-level rules on public pages:** sales tax shown at checkout, state lottery and sports-betting pages, alcohol delivery, and the privacy notices some sites show only to residents of states with a consumer privacy law (California, Virginia, Colorado, Texas and the other states with a law in force in October 2026). - **Small towns:** a request for a town of 20,000 may find no IP online at night; the state almost always has one. - **Statewide samples:** a rotating state session spreads requests across many cities, which suits averages. One caution: a state request gives you any city in that state. If your check depends on the metro (local search, delivery zones), use the city. ## Which state codes are used most? *All states with a city page are listed on the states page.* | State | Segment | Largest city with a page | | --- | --- | --- | | [California](https://metroproxies.com/states/california/) | `state-ca` | [Los Angeles](https://metroproxies.com/cities/los-angeles-ca/) | | [Texas](https://metroproxies.com/states/texas/) | `state-tx` | [Houston](https://metroproxies.com/cities/houston-tx/) | | [Florida](https://metroproxies.com/states/florida/) | `state-fl` | [Jacksonville](https://metroproxies.com/cities/jacksonville-fl/) | | [New York](https://metroproxies.com/states/new-york/) | `state-ny` | [New York City](https://metroproxies.com/cities/new-york-city-ny/) | | [Illinois](https://metroproxies.com/states/illinois/) | `state-il` | [Chicago](https://metroproxies.com/cities/chicago-il/) | | [Pennsylvania](https://metroproxies.com/states/pennsylvania/) | `state-pa` | [Philadelphia](https://metroproxies.com/cities/philadelphia-pa/) | | [Ohio](https://metroproxies.com/states/ohio/) | `state-oh` | [Columbus](https://metroproxies.com/cities/columbus-oh/) | | [Georgia](https://metroproxies.com/states/georgia/) | `state-ga` | [Atlanta](https://metroproxies.com/cities/atlanta-ga/) | | [North Carolina](https://metroproxies.com/states/north-carolina/) | `state-nc` | [Charlotte](https://metroproxies.com/cities/charlotte-nc/) | | [Arizona](https://metroproxies.com/states/arizona/) | `state-az` | [Phoenix](https://metroproxies.com/cities/phoenix-az/) | | [Washington](https://metroproxies.com/states/washington/) | `state-wa` | [Seattle](https://metroproxies.com/cities/seattle-wa/) | | [District of Columbia](https://metroproxies.com/states/district-of-columbia/) | `state-dc` | [Washington](https://metroproxies.com/cities/washington-dc/) | ## How do I fall back from a city to its state? Try the narrow request first, then widen one segment at a time, and record which level answered. In pseudo-code: 1. `USERNAME-country-us-state-nm-city-albuquerque-zip-87102` 2. If that fails: `USERNAME-country-us-state-nm-city-albuquerque` 3. If that fails: `USERNAME-country-us-state-nm` Store the level next to each result. A price recorded from "New Mexico, any city" should not be compared blindly with one recorded from ZIP 87102. The [username reference](https://metroproxies.com/docs/username-format/) lists the order of the segments; the [Python example](https://metroproxies.com/docs/python/) implements this fallback. ## What else do people ask about state targeting? ### Can I target US territories such as Puerto Rico? This site covers the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Puerto Rico and other territories have their own country codes in most proxy systems; ask support before you plan a job there. ### Does a state IP use the state's time zone? The IP has no time zone; your browser or tool does. Several states span two zones (Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and others), so set the zone that matches the city you expect. ### Is state targeting more reliable than city targeting? It finds an IP more often, because the pool is larger. It is less precise, because any city in the state qualifies. Use it as a fallback, not as a replacement for the city when the city matters. ### What does state targeting cost? Nothing extra. It is part of every plan, from $1.50 for 1 GB to $0.50/GB at volume (October 2026). ## Sources 1. ZIP targeting is included on every plan from $0.50/GB (October 2026). A small ZIP has fewer homes online, so availability varies more than for a city. No KYC; crypto only. ## How does the ZIP segment work? | Attribute | Value | | --- | --- | | Segment | `zip-{5 digits}`, leading zeros kept (`zip-02108`) | | Where | United States only | | Best used with | the matching `state-` and `city-` segments | | Price | Included; from $0.50/GB (October 2026) | | Precision | Approximate: depends on each site's geolocation database | | Availability | City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online | ## What do ZIP requests look like in large cities? *Each city page lists more ZIP areas that lie mostly inside city limits (Census 2020 ZCTA relationship file).* | Area | Username | | --- | --- | | Downtown Seattle, WA | `USERNAME-country-us-state-wa-city-seattle-zip-98101` | | South of Market, San Francisco, CA | `USERNAME-country-us-state-ca-city-san_francisco-zip-94103` | | Midtown Atlanta, GA | `USERNAME-country-us-state-ga-city-atlanta-zip-30309` | | Downtown Austin, TX | `USERNAME-country-us-state-tx-city-austin-zip-78701` | | Downtown Denver, CO | `USERNAME-country-us-state-co-city-denver-zip-80202` | | Downtown Phoenix, AZ | `USERNAME-country-us-state-az-city-phoenix-zip-85004` | | Center City, Philadelphia, PA | `USERNAME-country-us-state-pa-city-philadelphia-zip-19103` | | Downtown Washington, D.C. | `USERNAME-country-us-state-dc-city-washington-zip-20001` | ## How precise is a ZIP-level IP? Less precise than the five digits suggest. A ZIP code is a mail route, not a network boundary. Internet providers assign IP blocks to regional equipment that can serve several ZIP codes, and geolocation companies estimate locations from those blocks with their own methods. Two databases can place the same home IP in neighboring ZIP codes, or only at city level. What holds up: - The **state** is right in nearly every database. - The **city or metro** is usually right for a city request. - The **ZIP** matches in some databases and is a neighbor in others. So use ZIP targeting to get closer to a neighborhood, then verify with the database your target uses. The [geolocation accuracy guide](https://metroproxies.com/guides/ip-geolocation-accuracy/) explains the method. ## How many ZIP codes does a city have? Our city pages count ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs), the Census Bureau's map of ZIP codes, that lie at least half inside city limits. Large cities have dozens: New York City, Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago each have more than 50, while most cities of 150,000 to 250,000 people have between 2 and 12 (median 6). A ZIP that straddles the city line can geolocate to the neighboring suburb, so prefer ZIP codes that sit well inside the city. ZCTAs and USPS ZIP codes are close but not identical: post-office-box ZIPs and single-building ZIPs have no area, so they have no ZCTA. Those are poor proxy targets anyway, because few homes sit behind them. ## What is ZIP targeting good for? - **Prices and delivery:** grocery, pharmacy and big-box sites set prices, stock and delivery windows by store, which they pick from your ZIP. See [local price checks](https://metroproxies.com/guides/local-price-checks/). - **Local search:** map results change across a city; a ZIP-level IP gets you closer to what a resident of one neighborhood sees. - **Ads:** campaigns targeted by ZIP radius should show in the ZIPs you bought and not in the others. See [ad checks by city](https://metroproxies.com/guides/city-level-ad-checks/). - **Your own site:** test that the store locator and shipping estimate react to the right ZIP. ## What else do people ask about ZIP targeting? ### Does ZIP targeting cost extra? No. ZIP targeting is part of every MetroProxies plan, from $1.50 for 1 GB (October 2026). On 18 October 2026, SOAX listed ZIP targeting only on its Scale ($1,500/month + VAT) and Enterprise plans. ### Can I use a ZIP code without the city? Yes: `USERNAME-country-us-state-wa-zip-98101` works. Keeping the city segment is still safer, because it stops a typo in the ZIP from sending you to another state's code. ### Can I keep the same ZIP-level IP for a while? Yes. Add `-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}`: `USERNAME-country-us-state-co-city-denver-zip-80202-session-den1-ttl-15` keeps one IP for up to 15 minutes. up to 30 minutes, set per session with the ttl parameter; the IP can change earlier. ### What if the ZIP has no IP online? Retry later or widen to the city. Residential devices in one ZIP are a small group, and at some hours none may be online. City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. ## Sources 1.
